In a recent interview with Revolver magazine, SLIPKNOT co-founder and percussionist M. Shawn Crahan, also known as Clown, discussed the band’s upcoming music. When asked about new releases, Crahan said, “There will always be new SLIPKNOT music. We’ve mentioned that we act as a filter, and that process involves everyone in the band. Our improved communication now extends to our music discussions. Expect new music sooner than you think, delivered in an unexpected way. I’m excited because we’re no longer on a label, which brings both challenges and freedoms. It’s like we’re saying, ‘Come and get us, or we’ll come to get you.'”

Regarding whether SLIPKNOT will release new music independently or seek a new label after nearly 25 years with Roadrunner Records, Crahan explained, “We’ve been creating music out of our passion for it, so you’ll hear new material very soon. If I have any say, we’ll release a substantial amount of music before partnering with anyone. I don’t hate labels; I’m from an era of record deals, producers, and recording on two-inch tape. I enjoy the traditional process of booking studio time and just rocking out. If we go independent, we’ll need to handle everything ourselves, possibly hiring people to manage the details, which turns it into a business. I’m not sure we want to open another business, but I’m very interested in the idea of delivering our music directly to fans without any intermediaries.”
