Spiritbox frontwoman Courtney LaPlante recently addressed the limited stage time the band has during their opening slots for Korn and Gojira. Responding to a now-deleted tweet that appeared to criticize their short set, LaPlante clarified, “We are the opening band! The opener rarely plays more than 30 minutes.” She noted that the longest set she’s played as an opener is 35 minutes, highlighting that Korn has a vast catalog and a sound curfew to meet, alongside Gojira’s own set.
In another post, she emphasized their role as guests on the tour, saying, “We’re just happy to be here.” She added that when Spiritbox headlines their own shows, the opening acts also get limited time, typically 25-30 minutes, while they perform the longest set.
Most fans seem understanding of the short sets. One user expressed excitement for the opportunity to see them live, stating, “I’m so excited and grateful to scream for 30 minutes with you next week in NJ! Coming all the way from Trinidad & Tobago.” Another fan added, “I will give you my all for 30 minutes.”
The tour kicked off on September 12 in Tampa and will conclude in St. Paul, MN, on October 27, following Korn’s teasers for new music and their 30th-anniversary celebrations.
