Cradle of Filth’s keyboardist Zoë M. Federoff and guitarist Marek ‘Ashok’ Šmerda recently tied the knot, sharing their joyous news with fans on Instagram.
The wedding took place in Tucson, Arizona, and was attended by family, friends, and the entire Cradle of Filth band, including frontman Dani Filth. Dani posted heartfelt congratulations on Instagram, writing: “We had an absolutely wonderful day yesterday celebrating the marriage of Ashok and Zoë amidst a plethora of family and friends. Congratulations to the married couple… Mr. and Mrs. Šmerda!”
The wedding comes a year after the couple announced their engagement. At the time, Federoff addressed some rumors, clarifying that she and Ashok had no prior connection before she joined the band in 2022. “Ashok had nothing to do with me coming on board,” she wrote. “I’ve already written material for the next COF album, so our engagement has nothing to do with my continued stay in the band.”
She emphasized their dedication to Cradle of Filth, saying, “We truly enjoy working together, not to mention working with several of our closest friends. Dani has been the greatest and most supportive leader possible when it comes to our engagement. We remain happily committed to his team in COF.”
Federoff joined Cradle of Filth in 2022, succeeding Annabelle Iratni, while Ashok has been a member since 2014. Fans of the band can rest assured that the newlyweds remain fully devoted to creating more dark and dynamic music with Cradle of Filth.
