Foo Fighters frontman and former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl has publicly admitted to fathering a child outside of his marriage. In a candid Instagram post shared on Tuesday, September 10, Grohl revealed the news while expressing his commitment to his family.
“I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness,” Grohl wrote.
He further added, “We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”
Grohl, often described as one of the most affable figures in the music industry, has been married to model and TV producer Jordyn Blum since 2003. The couple shares three daughters, including Violet, who has joined Foo Fighters on tour as a performer. Despite the personal turmoil, Grohl has emphasized his dedication to his family.
The Instagram post had its comments disabled, preventing fans from directly reacting to the revelation.
Grohl has previously spoken about how his family has shaped his life and career. In a 2009 interview with Time, he said, “I used to tour nine months out of the year. Now I don’t like being away from my kids for more than 12 days. It’s changed everything that I do. When you have kids, you see life through different eyes. You feel love more deeply and are maybe a little more compassionate. It’s inevitable that that would make its way into your songwriting.”
As the family navigates this challenging time, Grohl’s focus remains on rebuilding trust and continuing his role as a loving father.
