Dee Snider has recently addressed his silence on social media, which has lasted since the US elections, by hinting at a new project he’s working on. In a tweet, he explained that while he’s not watching the news and doesn’t have much to post at the moment, he’s preparing to unveil something new soon:
“Since I don’t watch the news, I’m not ready to unveil my latest project; and I’m happy…I really don’t have anything to post these days.”
Snider’s most recent solo album, Leave A Scar, was released in May 2021, produced by Jamey Jasta. The album featured guest appearances, including Corpsegrinder from Cannibal Corpse on the track Time To Choose. After the album, Snider expressed that he might be done making solo records, saying:
“I’m feeling like I’m done. Now I said that after For The Love Of Metal [2018], and then COVID hit and I called Jamey up and Jamey Jasta said, ‘I wanna do another record.’ But right now I’m feeling very comfortable in who I am, what I am, what I’m doing and how I’m spending my life. I’m not feeling this urge.”
Despite this, Snider stayed active in collaborations, including contributing to Cactus’ Temple of Blues – Influences & Friends earlier this year alongside Carmine Appice and Dug Pinnick. It seems that while he may be stepping back from solo work for now, Snider’s creative drive is still alive through other projects. Fans are eager to see what he has in store next.
