After parting ways with Skid Row, Erik Grönwall is carving out a new path in the music world—one that’s entirely his own. During a recent livestream on his official YouTube channel, the singer shared exciting updates about his solo project, emphasizing his desire to stay independent.
“So, the latest on the solo project is that I’m going to start releasing new music,” Grönwall revealed when a fan inquired about his future plans. “The first single drops in April, and after that, I’ll release one cover and one original song every month.”
He detailed his approach, saying, “I’m going to release everything through my YouTube channel and build from there. I might consider a distribution deal with a label, but I’m not signing as an artist. There are some offers on the table, but for now, it’s all about doing this my way.”
Grönwall expressed his passion for returning to the roots of the music that shaped him. “I’ve always wanted to create the kind of music I grew up with. I love the vibe of the ’50s and ’60s, and you’ll hear some of that influence in my new material. I’ve got a few demos done, and they sound exactly how I imagined—it’s really exciting.”
Addressing questions about whether he’ll stay independent long-term, he admitted, “Maybe I’ll need some help from a label eventually, but I’ll remain independent as long as it makes sense. There’s only so much one person can handle, and as things grow, I might need more support.”
Grönwall also took to Facebook to outline what fans can expect from him in 2025:
MUSIC RELEASES:
- 1 Cover Song Per Month: “I’ll be reimagining some of my favorite classics with my unique twist. Expect a fresh take on old favorites every month, starting February 7!”
- 1 Original Song Per Month: “It’s happening! I’ll be dropping original tracks, with each song premiering on YouTube and all major streaming platforms. GRÖNWALL is coming—get ready! The first original song will be released on April 18.”
In addition to new music, Grönwall announced regular livestreams on YouTube. Fans can catch him every Friday at 9 PM, with exclusive members-only streams every Thursday at the same time. He also plans to perform live occasionally, though without a set schedule.
With his focus on creative freedom and a direct connection to his audience, Erik Grönwall’s solo journey promises to be an authentic reflection of his musical roots and personal vision.
