Kid Rock recently praised women competing in traditionally male-dominated sports like rodeo, emphasizing that their success isn’t about Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives but about their talent and hard work.
Sharing a video from his Rock and Rodeo event, he celebrated a female competitor, calling her a “badass cowgirl.” He wrote, “How cool is it to have women compete on Rodeo Teams with men!!!… not because of any DEI crap, but because they are the best at what they do!! Hard not to love a real, badass cowgirl.”
In past interviews, Kid Rock has also spoken about diversity within his own band. In a 2023 interview, he highlighted the mix of backgrounds among his bandmates: “I probably got the most diverse band out there. We have white people, hillbillies. We have Black people, we have gay people. We got it all—female, men…”
He emphasized how well they get along, saying they joke about their differences while maintaining a strong bond. “We’re not one of these bands that’s at each other’s throats and fighting. We all love each other and always have. We accept that we’re all different, and we’re all just cool.”
Sharing his perspective on social issues, Kid Rock expressed that he believes people should be free to live their lives without making it a focal point. “No one cares if you’re gay anymore. We all got gay family members, friends, co-workers. It’s like—just shut up about it. I’m not going to… ‘Oh, you’re gay.’ I’m not going to clap louder for you. All right, just be cool, be gay. Shut up. No one cares.”
In a previous interview with Fox News, he reiterated that he has no issue with people being transgender or gay, stating that everyone has the right to be themselves—as long as children are kept out of these “polarizing social issues.”
