L7 has announced the first-ever “Fast And Frightening Takeover” at the Belasco Theater in Downtown Los Angeles, taking place on Saturday, November 23. This mini-festival, curated by L7’s Donita Sparks, promises an eclectic night of music and performance art with a diverse lineup spanning multiple genres. L7 will headline the event, which features bands like REDD KROSS, SURFBORT, and THE PARANOYDS, along with unique acts such as magician Zabrecky and DJs like Paul V from Dragstrip 66 and Lesbian Goth Night DJs.
The event will include five bars and three stages, and Sparks aims to create a vibrant celebration of underground music and performance art. In Sparks’ words, it’s meant to fill a gap in the event world by bringing together different artistic styles with “chutzpah.” She also hopes it might double as a post-election celebration, encouraging partygoers to pace themselves for a full night of fun.
L7, originally formed in 1985, reunited in 2015 after a long hiatus, releasing their first album in 20 years, Scatter The Rats, in 2019 on Joan Jett’s Blackheart Records.
