Liam Gallagher of Oasis recently received an unusual honor from a supermarket:

a blue plaque commemorating his wit and playful suggestion. Earlier, amid delays in opening Manchester’s Co-op Arena, Gallagher had humorously proposed performing at Lidl if his shows at Co-op Live weren’t ready on time.

Now, Lidl in Newton Heath has embraced Gallagher’s jest by installing a plaque on its wall, affectionately dubbing it their ‘very own Wonderwall.’

Initially, the Co-op Live venue faced challenges, prompting Gallagher’s lighthearted quip on social media. Eventually, the issues were resolved, and Gallagher is scheduled to perform there later this month.

As part of his ongoing 30th-anniversary tour celebrating ‘Definitely Maybe,’ Gallagher recently played at London’s The O2, where he dedicated ‘Cigarettes & Alcohol’ to Dave Grohl, who joined him onstage. The tour features the album ‘Definitely Maybe’ in full, along with other hits from that era. Notably, Gallagher dedicated ‘Half The World Away,’ originally sung by his brother Noel, to him during one of the performances.
