LINKIN PARK — featuring Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Dave “Phoenix” Farrell, and Joe Hahn, along with new members Emily Armstrong of DEAD SARA as co-vocalist and Colin Brittain, who has worked with G FLIP, ILLENIUM, and ONE OK ROCK, as the new drummer — are back with their first new music in seven years.
Fans have been treated to a wave of exciting announcements: a brand new single and video for “The Emptiness Machine” will premiere today at 4 p.m. PT/7 p.m. ET, a global livestream performance, and the kickoff of their “From Zero World Tour” with six upcoming arena shows in Los Angeles, New York, Hamburg, London, Seoul, and Bogota. LP Underground fan club pre-sales begin September 6, with general sales starting September 7. For more details, visit LinkinPark.com.
These announcements mark the arrival of LINKIN PARK’s first album since 2017, titled “From Zero”, set to release on November 15.
On Friday, September 6, the band will sit down with longtime friend and Apple Music host Zane Lowe for an in-depth discussion about LINKIN PARK’s remarkable legacy, their seven-year journey to new music, and their excitement for the future. The full interview will be available to watch at 6 a.m. PT.
In recent years, Shinoda, Delson, Farrell, and Hahn quietly began reuniting. Rather than attempting to “restart” the band, they focused on reconnecting and reigniting their creative spark. They brought in various collaborators, eventually forming a special bond with Armstrong and Brittain. This newfound chemistry and the hours spent in the studio led to the creation of “From Zero”, a project that embodies the energy of a fresh start for these lifelong musicians.
Shinoda reflects on the new era: “Before LINKIN PARK, we were known as XERO. This album title nods to both our early beginnings and our current journey. It represents a blend of past, present, and future — honoring our signature sound while bringing something new and vibrant to the table. We made this album with deep appreciation for our new and longtime bandmates, friends, family, and fans. We’re proud of LINKIN PARK’s evolution and excited about what lies ahead.”
“The Emptiness Machine” showcases LINKIN PARK’s signature explosive energy and distinctive sound. With hypnotic melodies from Shinoda and a powerful chorus from Armstrong, it combines distorted riffs with pulsating drums, embodying the band’s dynamic and ever-evolving style.
Shinoda added: “Working with Emily and Colin has been incredibly rewarding. Their world-class talents and our collaborative energy have empowered us to create music that merges our familiar touchpoints with exciting new elements. We’re thrilled with this new chapter and the vibrant music we’ve made together.”
With “From Zero”, LINKIN PARK is poised to capture the essence of their past, present, and future. The new era has officially begun.
