Metallica’s charitable foundation, All Within My Hands, has pledged $500,000 to aid wildfire relief efforts in California. The funds will be directed to the California Community Foundation’s (CCF) Wildfire Recovery Fund and the Pasadena Community Foundation’s (PCF) Eaton Canyon Fire Relief and Recovery Fund.

In a statement, the foundation addressed the ongoing crisis:

“The fires raging in the Los Angeles area have relentlessly wreaked havoc and widespread destruction since January 7 and, sadly, do not show signs of slowing down. Despite containment progress over the weekend, officials warn residents to stay vigilant as the Santa Ana winds return and are expected to reach up to 70 MPH over the coming days, creating critical fire conditions.”

The devastation includes the loss of 24 lives, nearly 100,000 people under evacuation orders, over 40,000 acres burned, and more than 12,000 structures destroyed. “Numbers cannot articulate the magnitude of anguish as the disaster upends families and dismantles livelihoods,” the statement added.

All Within My Hands emphasized its commitment to helping those in need, saying, “We are granting $500,000 to relief efforts carried out by the California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Recovery Fund and the Pasadena Community Foundation’s Eaton Canyon Fire Relief and Recovery Fund.”

Supporting Communities in Crisis

The California Community Foundation (CCF) collaborates with local organizations and government agencies to assist underserved communities. Its wildfire recovery efforts focus on rebuilding critical infrastructure, providing financial aid, and supporting workers and immigrant families.

Similarly, the Pasadena Community Foundation (PCF) established the Eaton Canyon Fire Relief and Recovery Fund to address both immediate needs and long-term recovery efforts following the fires.

Metallica’s Ongoing Philanthropy

Metallica’s All Within My Hands Foundation has a history of supporting disaster relief efforts. In October, the foundation donated $100,000 to Hurricane Helene relief. The organization also raises funds through its annual Helping Hands concert and auction, with the most recent event featuring Metallica as the headliner.

To further support Los Angeles fire relief, the foundation’s website now includes donation pages for the California Community Foundation and the Pasadena Community Foundation.
