Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx recently addressed concerns about the band’s future in a new interview with Rock 102.1 KFMA. He clarified his earlier remarks about the band’s recording plans, aiming to clear up any misunderstandings.
Sixx had previously stated in an interview with Riff X’s *Metal XS* in June 2024 that he didn’t see an immediate need for Mötley Crüe to return to the studio. He explained that the band had several singles already recorded and was focused on their current tour. He mentioned that, with band members spread across different locations—himself in Wyoming and lead vocalist Vince Neil in Tennessee—there was no urgent reason to rush into new recording sessions.
His comments were interpreted as suggesting a bleak outlook for the band’s future. To address this, Sixx emphasized that while the band wasn’t planning immediate studio sessions, they were continually creating and staying musically active. He shared that he was working on new ideas and recording snippets of inspiration, even in everyday moments like when his daughter was getting ready for school.
Sixx further explained, “We’re always creating — always creating. I was working on something this morning. I was just playing bass, and I put it on my little voice messages.” He assured fans that the band was still very much engaged with their music, despite not being in a rush to record new material. He hinted that they would eventually return to the studio when the timing was right and when they had something they were truly inspired by.
The band’s commitment to their craft remains strong, even as they balance their personal lives and touring schedules. Sixx’s comments aimed to reassure fans that while there might be pauses in studio activity, Mötley Crüe is still active and involved in their music.
