Wearing masks can be a real challenge for bands, and it’s something that groups like Slipknot, Lordi, Gwar, Sleep Token, and The Locust are all too familiar with. For Mushroomhead, the masks are a significant part of their identity, despite the discomfort and difficulty they bring.

In a recent interview with Dr. Music, as transcribed by Blabbermouth, Mushroomhead’s drummer, founder, and sole consistent member, Steve “Skinny” Felton, addressed the issue. While he acknowledged that the masks can be uncomfortable and challenging to manage, he made it clear that the band would never consider performing without them. The masks are integral to their image and performance, and despite the hassles, they’re a core part of their artistic expression.
