Nita Strauss’ recent conversation about her time away from Alice Cooper’s band and Kane Roberts filling in for her during the 2022 tour gives insight into the mutual respect between musicians. Strauss, who rejoined the band in 2023 after a brief stint with Demi Lovato, admitted that although it felt like a longer absence to the public, it was only a short tour (less than 20 shows). During this time, Kane Roberts took over her role, and Strauss expressed admiration for his unique stage presence and guitar playing.
When asked if she felt jealous watching Roberts on stage, Nita was quick to clarify that she wasn’t at all. In fact, she’s a big fan of his work and even wished she could’ve toured with him to experience his performance more. Her attitude exemplifies how much camaraderie exists among musicians, even when filling each other’s shoes. She jokingly mentioned the possibility of a four-guitar-player setup, suggesting the excitement she feels for future collaborations.
As for her solo work, Strauss confirmed that there are no new solo projects coming out immediately. Meanwhile, Orianthi was scheduled to fill in for Nita during early 2025, but due to injuries, Gilby Clarke will now take over. The changes highlight the constant evolution of Cooper’s band lineup.
