Poison guitarist Pete Evick has clarified the recent confusion surrounding the band’s touring plans for 2025, particularly in light of drummer Rikki Rockett’s earlier comments. Rockett had stated on Facebook that the band wouldn’t be touring in 2025 because frontman Bret Michaels didn’t want to.
In his follow-up post, Evick addressed the backlash Rockett received from fans. “Rikki’s post is 100% true,” he stated, urging fans to consider why Michaels has chosen not to tour. He emphasized that Michaels has consistently mentioned a focus on a 2026 tour, which will mark Poison’s 40th anniversary.
Evick also pointed out that Michaels is dealing with serious health issues and has been advised to prioritize his well-being. He expressed frustration at fans questioning Michaels’ vocal abilities, insisting that Bret still sounds great and has never pushed himself beyond his limits.
He added, “Bret loves you guys; he’s given his life for you.” Evick encouraged fans to be supportive rather than critical, highlighting the sacrifices Michaels has made for their enjoyment.
Despite earlier comments from Michaels about a potential 2025 tour, the recent statements suggest a shift in focus toward planning for the anniversary in 2026. As of now, Michaels has not publicly responded to the latest discussions.
