Poppy, the multi-faceted artist known for her genre-bending music and subversive performances, has released a new track titled “They’re All Around Us.” Produced and co-written by Jordan Fish, formerly of BRING ME THE HORIZON, the song comes with a striking visualizer directed by Sam Cannon. This track, along with the previously released “New Way Out,” will be featured on Poppy’s upcoming album, the follow-up to 2023’s Zig, although further details about the new release remain undisclosed.
In addition to her own projects, Poppy has made waves through recent collaborations, including contributions to BAD OMENS’ “V.A.N.” and KNOCKED LOOSE’s “Suffocate,” which earned a spot in Spotify’s Viral 50 USA playlist. These partnerships demonstrate her wide-ranging versatility across genres.
Poppy has a busy festival schedule for the remainder of 2024, with appearances at Aftershock, Louder Than Life, and Mayhem. Earlier in the year, she joined BAD OMENS on their European “Concrete Forever” tour and later supported AVENGED SEVENFOLD on their North American tour. She also opened for THIRTY SECONDS TO MARS during their North American summer run.
Having started her career in performance art, Poppy has continually pushed boundaries, blending visuals and sound in innovative ways. Her 2020 album I Disagree marked a major success, earning over 100 million streams and a Grammy nomination for “Best Metal Performance” with the song “Bloodmoney,” making her the first solo female artist ever nominated in that category.
Zig, released in 2023, showcases an evolved Poppy, blending electronic beats and screamed vocals to create a unique sonic experience. With over 12 million streams globally, Zig charted highly, reaching No. 8 on Billboard’s Current Alternative Albums chart and No. 9 on the Current Rock Albums chart, further solidifying her status as a creative force.
