REO SPEEDWAGON To Stop Touring Due To ‘Irreconcilable Differences’

Veteran rock band REO SPEEDWAGON has announced that they will cease touring at the end of 2024. The decision follows internal disagreements over bassist Bruce Hall’s return to the stage after undergoing back surgery in November 2023. Matt Bissonette, who has played with Elton John and other notable artists, has been filling in for Hall during 2024.
In a statement shared on social media on September 16, the band revealed that Bruce’s recovery wasn’t deemed sufficient for him to rejoin. Though Hall was eager to return, the band ultimately decided not to proceed with him on tour, leading to irreconcilable differences, especially between Hall and frontman Kevin Cronin.
Bruce’s wife, Kimmie Sue, shared her disappointment over the situation, noting that Bruce had dreamed of a final farewell tour with the full band, bringing in past members for a memorable send-off. Despite these challenges, REO SPEEDWAGON expressed their gratitude to fans for their decades of support.
Formed in 1967, REO SPEEDWAGON has sold over 40 million albums globally and achieved massive success with hits like “Keep On Loving You” and “Take It On the Run.” The band remains a beloved staple in rock history.
