In a recent interview with Anne Erickson of Audio Ink Radio, JUDAS PRIEST frontman Rob Halford, who turned 73 last month, addressed the possibility of a follow-up to the band’s latest album, Invincible Shield, which was released in March. Halford explained that while they haven’t yet started working on new music, it’s inevitable that JUDAS PRIEST will eventually create more. He emphasized that the band’s relevance is deeply connected to the music they produce, saying, “This band thrives on the metal that we make.” Though no timeline is set, Halford remains confident that there will be another album in the future, citing their 50-year legacy from Rocka Rolla to Invincible Shield.

Invincible Shield marked a major achievement for JUDAS PRIEST, entering the U.K. chart at No. 2, just behind Ariana Grande’s Eternal Sunshine. This was the band’s highest charting album in the U.K. since 1980’s British Steel, which reached No. 4. The album also performed exceptionally well internationally, hitting No. 1 in Germany, Finland, Sweden, and Switzerland.

JUDAS PRIEST is currently on the summer/fall 2024 leg of their Invincible Shield North American tour, which kicked off on September 13 in Montreal, Canada. With special guest SABATON, the tour covers 23 cities, including stops in Los Angeles, Phoenix, and Texas, before concluding in late October.
