Sammy Hagar believes Mike Anthony outshines David Lee Roth on one iconic Van Halen track.

Hagar recently posted the setlist for his upcoming show at Barrett-Jackson on Instagram, teasing fans about the January 17 performance in Scottsdale. He captioned the post, “Set list for Scottsdale show Barrett-Jackson Friday. Anybody got a problem with this set list?”

The Red Rocker followed up in the comments, revealing more details about the show. “You guys are wearing me out. I can’t answer all these. But it’s going to be a fun show. Loose like a Cabo birthday bash. The first song is ‘Bad Motor Scooter.’ Some people said they couldn’t read the first song. Montrose in the house.”

When a fan expressed surprise at seeing “Ain’t Talkin’ ’Bout Love” included, Hagar responded with a bold claim: “Mikey sings that one better than Dave.”

According to the setlist, fans can also expect hits like “Finish What Ya Started,” “Pound Cake,” “Best Of Both Worlds,” “Why Can’t This Be Love?” and “Right Now.”

While the shows continue, Anthony has been dropping hints about future projects. In a heartfelt holiday message on Instagram, he thanked fans for their support over the past year. “I hope everyone’s having a great holiday season—Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, however you celebrate. Here’s to 2025; let’s make it a great year,” he said, adding, “We’ve got a lot of great stuff planned. Maybe some new Chickenfoot music.”

Chickenfoot, featuring Hagar, Anthony, Joe Satriani, and Chad Smith, released two studio albums in 2009 and 2011. Drummer Kenny Aronoff filled in for Smith during their tours.

Hagar also revealed that The Best of All Worlds lineup—Anthony, Satriani, and Aronoff—has been working on new music, including a tribute to Eddie Van Halen, set to release in early 2025. Fans are eagerly anticipating what’s next for the legendary rocker and his collaborators.
