The reformed PANTERA, featuring classic members Philip Anselmo (vocals) and Rex Brown (bass), along with Zakk Wylde (guitar) and Charlie Benante (drums), will embark on a European tour starting January 21, 2025, in Helsinki, Finland. The tour will visit various cities across Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Netherlands, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Germany, Belgium, Italy, and Switzerland, concluding on February 15, 2025, in Paris, France.
Following their European trek, PANTERA will perform a five-date U.K./Ireland run, starting February 18, 2025, at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow. The tour will continue to Leeds at the First Direct Arena on February 19, Dublin’s 3Arena on February 21, Birmingham’s BP Pulse Live on February 23, and finish at London’s OVO Arena Wembley on February 25.
In a recent interview with Sweetwater, Rex Brown discussed the reformation of PANTERA, noting that the lineup has received approval from the estates of the band’s original members, drummer Vinnie Paul and guitarist “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott. Rex shared an emotional experience, saying, “During our last show, I felt a chill, like a cold presence. I’ve had this feeling before when recording with Charlie. To me, it feels like the presence of the late brothers, and I believe they’re watching over us and approving of what we’re doing. We’re getting tighter and better, and that’s all we can hope for.”
Reflecting on performing for new generations of fans who never saw PANTERA live, Rex added, “It’s incredible to see new fans connect with the music. Seeing the emotion on their faces and knowing we’re doing something right is amazing.”
Rex also discussed how the current tour differs from the band’s original days. In an April interview with American Musical Supply, he said, “This is a different experience with Charlie and Zakk. We’ve spent countless hours preparing and recording, and it’s clear that this is a tight-knit unit. Although it’s hard to fill the shoes of the brothers, it’s rewarding to see their influence reflected in our performances and in the audience’s reaction.”
