Ozzy Osbourne has decisively stated he won’t perform seated during a concert, a fact underscored by his wife and manager, Sharon.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Sharon and Kelly Osbourne delved into the emotional decision Ozzy made to step back from the highly anticipated Californian Power Trip mega-festival earlier this season.
The renowned event, slated for Saturday, 7th October, had lined up a stellar cast including the legendary AC/DC, Guns N’ Roses, Iron Maiden, Metallica, and Tool. Ozzy was to grace the stage, too.
However, in a statement released in July, Ozzy clarified his decision to skip his much-anticipated live return at the Power Trip, explaining his physical readiness was still a concern due to his prior health complications.
In a heartrending revelation to Rolling Stone, Kelly Osbourne said, “The topic is almost taboo at home. It’s so saddening seeing that all he craves is just one more gig.”
“Ozzy deeply wishes to share the stage with his pals,” Sharon expressed. “It’s agonizing for him to witness everyone moving forward while he’s stuck in time.”
Kelly pointed out, “He could potentially perform now if he chose to sit because his voice is as powerful as ever.”
“But he’s against that idea,” Sharon clarified.
Kelly expounded, “He mentioned if he can’t deliver the experience fans expect, he won’t proceed. No one values their fans the way my dad does.”
The Osbourne clan, including Ozzy, Sharon, Kelly, and Jack, will debut ‘The Osbournes’ podcast on Tuesday, 12th September. The teaser is available for viewing now.
