Stryper’s Michael Sweet Warns Americans: ‘Do We Really Trust In God?’

Michael Sweet of Stryper recently expressed concerns about the diminishing role of religion in America.

Celebrating the 36th anniversary of their album ‘In God We Trust,’ the rocker took to Instagram to share his thoughts. He wrote:

“Released this day, in 1988. 36 years ago. ‘In God We Trust.’ Reading the news and seeing the state of our country, our world – do we really trust in God? Even that which is printed on all US currency will be abolished eventually by this digital world. Not sure how many agree but that’s a real bummer to me. A sign of the times. To relate to our new single – ‘The End of Days.’ Anyway, we had fun back then. The good old days.”

Sweet has been vocal about his views on religion, frequently sharing them on social media. He also addressed other rockers’ perspectives on the subject.

In another post, Sweet highlighted a statement by Slayer’s Kerry King, who called religion “The biggest lie among humanity for centuries.” Sweet responded:

“There’s an indisputable difference between religion and Jesus. Someday we’ll all find out what was a lie versus what is THE truth.
