As everyone knows, Ted Nugent isn’t afraid to voice his thoughts about other performers, frequently characterizing them with his own unique and quirky vocabulary. Even though Nugent is known for being outspoken—he even called Dolly Parton “a satan artist”—it appears that this time, he is making an exception for Keith Richards.
Following Charlie Watt’s death, the Rolling Stones are now recording a new album, featuring a cameo appearance by Paul McCartney of the Beatles on one of the tracks. Keith Richards also made hints about a Stones tour back in January. Ted Nugent discussed Richards’ decision to take the road on a recent episode of his Spirit Campfire program.
Ted Nugent said the following regarding Keith Richards:
“Here’s my buddy, Keith Richards; he’s getting ready to go on tour. I know everything I say makes perfect sense, except when it comes to Keith Richards. I love this guy, but he’s getting ready to go on tour again, and I told my buddies, ‘I think he’s pickled.‘ You know, when you take a haunch of ham from a wild pig, you smoke it, and it preserves it forever. I think Keith Richards is pickled, chemically smoked, and preserved. I love the guy.”
Ted Nugent appears to agree with Keith Richards’ desire to carry on producing music at his advanced age, in contrast to Grace Slick, who believes that more senior rock performers like Richards’ bandmate Mick Jagger ought to quit.
