Ted Nugent’s Wife Shemane Reacts To The Transgender Ban In Women’s Sports

Shemane Nugent recently weighed in on the transgender athlete debate during an episode of her Faith and Freedom with Shemane podcast. Sharing a clip on Instagram, she praised former President Donald Trump for his stance on the issue, stating, “Trump saved women’s sports. He declared there are only two genders and shut down taxpayer-funded gender transitions for minors.”

She continued her endorsement, adding, “He secured the border, deployed troops, ramped up deportations, and stopped violent illegals from flooding in. He’s not fighting alone—he just appointed Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to lead Health and Human Services. They’re making America healthy again.”

Her remarks follow a series of controversial statements made by her husband, rocker Ted Nugent, regarding transgender rights. In a 2023 post on X, Nugent dismissed the concept of being transgender, writing, “There is no such thing as transgender. You cannot change your gender. Comfortably numb is actually uncomfortably dumb. Debate me, but bring your bib.”

Nugent also stirred backlash during an appearance on The Nightly Nuge, criticizing Kansas Governor Laura Kelly for vetoing legislation that restricted transgender individuals from accessing certain bathrooms and participating in women’s sports. The Kansas Senate, led by President Ty Masterson, later overrode the veto, making the bill law.

Reacting to the development, Nugent said, “It’s 2023, and we’re actually debating whether boys should be allowed in girls’ locker rooms and bathrooms? This is the ultimate sign of a culture in decline.” He continued, “Anyone with a conscience, with honesty, with a sense of truth and logic, knows this is cruel. It’s demonic. It’s sinful to believe a man should be in a women’s locker room or bathroom.”

Nugent didn’t stop there. He criticized Governor Kelly for what he described as siding with “perverts” and contributing to the “sexualization of children,” referencing the broader national debate over gender-affirming care.

In another incident from April 2023, Nugent took aim at Bud Light for partnering with a transgender influencer, declaring that he doesn’t consume alcohol and refuses to have Anheuser-Busch products anywhere near him. He labeled the company’s marketing campaign as an insult to conservative consumers.
