Metallica’s lead guitarist Kirk Hammett has praised Judas Priest, calling them the “architects of what we now know as heavy metal.”
Hammett, 61, made the remark during a Q&A session in Munich, Germany, on May 25, where he was joined by bassist Robert Trujillo and longtime Metallica photographer Ross Halfin.
During the Q&A, a photo of Hammett and Metallica singer/co-guitarist James Hetfield watching Judas Priest at the 2023 Power Trip festival in Indio, California, was projected behind them.
