Brittany Furlan, wife of Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee, revealed on Instagram that their home remains inaccessible due to ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles. “Unable to return home for another week they’re saying, as we are so close to the fire line,” she shared in her Instagram story. “We are lucky to have a home to return to.”
Furlan also addressed health concerns caused by the wildfires, advising residents to verify their tap water’s safety and to wear N95 masks outdoors for months due to hazardous particulates in the air. She shared resources like WaterforLA.com to assist those affected and added, “This is an unreal time, and I’m sending everyone love.”
The wildfires have caused devastation across the region, destroying homes belonging to several rock musicians, including Tommy Lee, Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian, Rage Against the Machine drummer Brad Wilk, and blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa. Many families have been evacuated as authorities work to contain the fires.
Tommy Lee has expressed his frustration with the lack of focus on the crisis, calling out others on Instagram for continuing to post about their music projects during the disaster. “Makes me fcking sick to see most people just caring on a posting on lame a** social media!” he wrote. “Right now, nobody gives a flying fck when your record drops or the next concert is when so many people are in the middle of one of the biggest disasters of all time!”
Though dangerous fire weather has temporarily eased, Santa Ana winds are expected to return next week, potentially worsening the situation. So far, the wildfires have claimed at least 27 lives, with 31 people still missing and entire neighborhoods destroyed. Cleanup efforts are expected to take months, and authorities are investigating the causes of fires like the Palisades and Eaton fires, which have accounted for 10 and 17 deaths, respectively.
Currently, around 82,400 people remain evacuated, with an additional 90,400 under warning. Tommy Lee and Brittany Furlan remain hopeful, but their situation reflects the severity of the crisis gripping Los Angeles.
