Vince Neil has recently shared his thoughts on John 5, who joined Mötley Crüe as a replacement for Mick Mars.
In an interview with 95.5 radio station, Neil praised John 5, highlighting his fit within the band and his exceptional talent:
“He’s a good fit for the band. He’s a wonderful human being. He’s a great guy, and he’s so talented it’s scary. On stage, when he’s performing solos, I usually hang back, grab some water, and relax. But when he’s doing his solos, I have to be out there watching him because he’s absolutely mesmerizing. He’s got that special something.”
### John 5’s Respect for Mick Mars
John 5 joined Mötley Crüe in 2022 following Mick Mars’s departure due to health issues. He officially became part of the band during their 2022 Stadium Tour with Def Leppard. Reflecting on his role and Mars’s legacy, John 5 shared:
“I have a deep respect and fondness for Mick. I believe if anyone were to take his place, Mick would want it to be me. I love the music, I love Mick, and I admire his solos, just like everyone else does. It’s important to honor that.”
John 5 also emphasized that there are no hard feelings between him and Mars. In a separate interview, he discussed adjusting his sound to pay homage to Mars:
“Mick’s tone and playing are incredible. I had to tweak my guitar amp settings and make some adjustments to my sound. I still use a Telecaster, like Mick did during ‘Girls, Girls, Girls.’ I have immense respect for Mick, and he knows that.”
