LINKIN PARK delivered the second show of their comeback mini-tour on Monday, September 16, at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The band performed a two-hour set on a stage designed to resemble an aircraft carrier, providing a visually striking production and accommodating an expanded audience.
Similar to their September 5 livestream concert from Los Angeles and the September 11 gig at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, the Brooklyn show introduced new members Emily Armstrong on vocals and Colin Brittain on drums. They joined returning members Mike Shinoda, Dave “Phoenix” Farrell, and Joe Hahn. Guitarist Alex Feder stepped in for Brad Delson at these performances and will continue touring in his place for the foreseeable future.
The concert opened with “Somewhere I Belong” from Meteora and featured a range of songs spanning LINKIN PARK’s discography, including “My December” from the Hybrid Theory era and “Keys To The Kingdom” from their 2014 album The Hunting Party. Fans were also treated to the band’s new single, “The Emptiness Machine,” which is part of their upcoming album From Zero, set for release on November 15. This will be LINKIN PARK’s first full-length album since 2017’s One More Light, and their first since the passing of Chester Bennington.
The band’s setlist at Barclays Center included fan favorites like “Crawling,” “In The End,” and “Numb,” alongside new material, offering a blend of nostalgia and fresh energy.
In a recent interview with Billboard, Mike Shinoda discussed the departure of drummer Rob Bourdon, who co-founded the band. Bourdon had expressed a desire to distance himself from LINKIN PARK, which became more apparent over the years. “It was sad as a friend, but we all want Rob to be happy,” Shinoda remarked.
Shinoda also spoke about LINKIN PARK’s new lineup, highlighting the chemistry they’ve built with Armstrong and Brittain. He explained the significance of their upcoming album From Zero, which references their original band name, XERO. The album represents their past, present, and future, merging the band’s iconic sound with fresh elements.
Fans can expect more from LINKIN PARK, as the band has planned additional stops in Hamburg, London, Seoul, and Bogota, with a longer tour anticipated in 2025.
