Ashley McBryde is set to make waves on Nashville’s famous Broadway with the opening of her new bar, Redemption, which promises to be unlike anything else in the area. Announced on August 1, this unique venue will offer a fresh twist by focusing on non-alcoholic options, making it more inclusive for those who choose not to drink. Located inside Eric Church’s Chief’s, Redemption will feature a zero-proof cocktail menu where each drink is inspired by song lyrics. However, McBryde emphasizes that alcoholic drinks will also be available, ensuring no one feels left out. “It was vital that I create a space where not drinking is the forethought – normalized,” she told Rolling Stone. “You can get alcohol drinks in Redemption too, because everyone is welcome.” Her vision is to build a welcoming space that champions what has made a difference in her own life and lifts up those often overlooked.
Another standout feature of Redemption is its focus on showcasing original music by up-and-coming singers and songwriters, rather than the usual cover songs heard in most Broadway bars. This gives new artists a valuable platform to share their own work and grow their audiences.
Ashley’s journey toward opening this bar is deeply connected to her personal story. She recently celebrated three years of sobriety, a decision she made privately in 2022 before sharing it publicly a year later. In an interview with PEOPLE, McBryde explained that she quit drinking for herself, not for social media or others’ approval. “All people are gonna do is just wait for you to screw up, and that’s really annoying. I did it for me,” she said. She acknowledged that while part of her image was tied to being a “whiskey-drinking badass,” she realized when it was time to set the bottle down because it was costing her too much. Her sobriety has become a source of strength, motivating her to create a space where others can feel comfortable and included.
Redemption is scheduled to open its doors on August 28, marking a new chapter for McBryde and for Nashville’s Broadway scene—one that embraces inclusivity, originality, and a fresh perspective on nightlife.
