On July 4th, the country superstar took the stage—100 floors above the ground—at the Edge in Hudson Yards for the 48th annual Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks celebration. With the iconic skyline glowing behind her, Lainey delivered two powerhouse performances, belting out her brand-new single “4x4xU” and her rising hit “Hang Tight Honey.”

The setting was as breathtaking as her vocals. As the sun dipped below the city, painting the sky in pink, orange, and purple, Lainey stood strong against heavy gusts of wind, her hair whipping wildly but her voice never wavering. Fans on the sky deck cheered her on while millions watched from home during NBC’s live broadcast.

It’s been a whirlwind of a week for Lainey—quite literally. Alongside her live TV performance, she dropped not one but two music videos: “Hang Tight Honey” on Wednesday and “4x4xU” on Thursday. Both tracks will be featured on her upcoming album Whirlwind, set to release August 23.

Despite the blustery weather, Lainey’s charm and energy shone through. In a playful TikTok post, she joked about “fighting for my life in a real-life whirlwind 🤣” and admitted it took 30 minutes to detangle her hair afterward. Fans flooded the comments with praise, calling her “amazing,” “fearless,” and “a true performer.”

The night also featured performances from Tanner Adell, The War and Treaty, Luis Fonsi, Brandy Clark, Shaboozey, and more, with Mickey Guyton and Zuri Hall co-hosting the celebration. And of course, the evening ended with Macy’s jaw-dropping fireworks—over 60,000 shells lighting up the Hudson River in more than 30 colors, including brand-new effects like a silver cascade and a kaleidoscope burst of red and blue.

From small-town Louisiana to the tallest stage in the Western Hemisphere, Lainey Wilson once again proved she’s unstoppable—wind, hair tangles, and all.

In 2007, three country music legends—Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, and Ray Price—hit the road together for the Last of the Breed Tour. It was a historic co-headlining tour, bringing together three of the genre’s most iconic voices. Sadly, Ray Price passed away in 2013, and Haggard followed three years later on his birthday. Today, Willie Nelson remains the sole surviving member of this legendary trio.

The tour’s grand finale was nothing short of memorable. On the last night, the trio recorded a concert that became both an album and a PBS television special. Backed by Price’s Cherokee Cowboys and Ray Benson with his band Asleep at the Wheel, Nelson, Haggard, and Price performed a selection of their biggest hits, leaving fans with unforgettable memories. One standout moment from the night was Nelson and Haggard performing “Pancho and Lefty.”

Nelson and Haggard had a long history of collaboration, recording three albums together: Poncho & Lefty (1983), Seashores of Old Mexico (1987), and Django and Jimmie (2016). Of these, the title track of their first album, “Pancho and Lefty,” became their most iconic duet.

The song itself, written by the underrated songwriter Townes Van Zandt, tells the story of the outlaw Pancho and his partner Lefty. Van Zandt once explained that the inspiration for the song seemed to come “out of the blue,” and while it loosely references Pancho Villa, the story in the song is its own tale of betrayal and fate.

Over the years, many artists covered “Pancho and Lefty,” but it was Haggard and Nelson who turned it into a major hit. Their version topped the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart in 1983, cementing the song—and their duet—as an enduring classic in country music history.

The Last of the Breed Tour and performances like “Pancho and Lefty” remind fans why these artists are considered legends. Their voices, chemistry, and deep respect for the music created moments that are still celebrated today.

Pop powerhouse Kelly Clarkson joined country stars Kelsea Ballerini and Carly Pearce for a show-stopping performance of “You’re Drunk, Go Home” at the 56th Annual CMA Awards. The trio dazzled in coordinated blue gowns and denim accents, delivering a performance full of sass, attitude, and musical chemistry.

The song, a highlight from Ballerini’s latest album Subject To Change, is all about female empowerment and honesty, co-written with Julian Bunetta and Shane McAnally. Ballerini shared that Kelly Clarkson jumped on the track at the drop of a hat: “I asked Kelly to be a part of my song in the morning, and she went to the studio that night to record vocals.”

Clarkson, in her usual playful style, admitted that she had already been celebrating before recording the track. “I didn’t know I was going to be singing that day. I had to sing ‘You’re Drunk, Go Home’ a little inebriated while hitting soprano parts — but I made it work,” she joked.

The 2022 CMA Awards were packed with unforgettable moments beyond this powerhouse trio. The night opened with a tribute to the late Loretta Lynn featuring Carrie Underwood, Reba McEntire, and Miranda Lambert, and honored Alan Jackson with a Lifetime Achievement segment. Fans also enjoyed incredible collaborations from Thomas Rhett with Katy Perry, Chris Stapleton with Patty Loveless, and Ashley McBryde with Pillbox Patti, Brandy Clark, Caylee Hammack, and John Osborne, among others.

Hosted by Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning, the show took place at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena and aired live on ABC. With performances from stars like Luke Combs, Morgan Wallen, Carrie Underwood, and more, the night was a celebration of the best in country music.

For anyone who missed the live broadcast, the 56th CMA Awards are available to stream on Hulu starting November 10. It was a night filled with star-studded performances, powerful collaborations, and unforgettable moments that will be remembered by fans for years to come.

Reba McEntire knows how to put on a show, and her performance of “Fancy” at the CMAs proved it once again!

She kicked things off in a dramatic lilac feathered robe, setting the stage for her 1990 hit. Fans familiar with the song knew the story was just beginning: “We didn’t have money for food or rent… Then Mama spent every last penny we had / To buy me a dancin’ dress.”

True to the lyrics, Reba quickly shed the robe to reveal a flowing red V-neck dress paired with matching heels. But she didn’t stop there — as the song built, she tore off the red dress to reveal a sparkling sequined jumpsuit underneath, sending the audience into a frenzy. It was a perfectly theatrical moment for one of country music’s most iconic stars.

Even Garth Brooks couldn’t contain his excitement, shouting on camera, “That was f–king awesome!” Reba’s quick-change extravaganza was definitely a highlight of the night.

While Reba stole the spotlight with her daring outfit changes, other performances also wowed the crowd. One standout moment was Little Big Town’s “Girl Crush” featuring a powerful solo from New Artist of the Year winner, Ashley McBryde.

The night reminded everyone why Reba isn’t just a country star — she’s a true entertainer, capable of turning any song into an unforgettable spectacle.

Seven-time Grammy winner Carrie Underwood brought the holiday spirit to life with a breathtaking performance of “Mary, Did You Know?” on CMA Country Christmas, airing on ABC.

Dressed in a sparkling emerald gown, Carrie delivered a heartfelt rendition of the beloved holiday classic, accompanied by a pianist and guitarist. Performing from a beautifully decorated festive home, she reminded fans of the deeper meaning of Christmas with her powerful vocals and emotional delivery.

Before taking the stage, Carrie shared her excitement: “CMA Country Christmas is all your favorite artists in one place, performing songs we love and celebrating Christmas together. It’s really special to be part of that.”

Speaking about her performance, she added, “‘Mary, Did You Know?’ is on my Christmas album My Gift. The song is so meaningful to me because it’s from Mary’s perspective—a mother holding the son of God. It’s profound, and I hope everyone connects with it as much as I do.”

Co-written by Mark Lowry and Buddy Greene, “Mary, Did You Know?” first gained popularity when Michael English recorded it in 1991. Carrie’s version continues the song’s legacy, bringing her own emotional depth and star power to the timeless classic.

The holiday special was co-hosted by Gabby Barrett and Carly Pearce, featuring an all-star lineup including Jimmie Allen with Louis York and The Shindellas, BRELAND, Brett Eldredge, Lady A, Pistol Annies, and Lainey Wilson. Carrie’s performance, however, was a standout moment, leaving fans inspired and full of festive cheer.

At the 2017 CRS (Country Radio Seminar) Annual UMG Luncheon, country music fans were treated to a truly unforgettable performance. Keith Urban, Chris Stapleton, and Vince Gill came together on stage for a stunning rendition of “Blue Ain’t Your Color,” and the result was pure magic.

Keith Urban opened with his signature smooth vocals, delivering the hit song with heartfelt emotion. Just when the audience thought it couldn’t get any better, Chris Stapleton joined in, adding his powerful voice and masterful guitar skills to the mix.

The surprise crescendo came when Vince Gill stepped onto the stage. Known for his incredible guitar work and rich harmonies, Gill helped turn the performance into a six-minute jam session full of energy, talent, and camaraderie. The three artists traded guitar solos, each shining in their own way, while the audience erupted with applause and a standing ovation.

This performance wasn’t just a musical treat—it perfectly captured the spirit of collaboration that country music is known for. Seeing three superstars come together, feed off each other’s energy, and create something so memorable was truly a special moment.

The UMG Luncheon is part of the CRS event, a key gathering for radio programmers and industry insiders. It gives artists the chance to showcase their music and connect with the country music community. While other big names like Luke Bryan and Lady Antebellum also performed, it was Urban, Stapleton, and Gill who stole the spotlight that day.

Moments like this remind us why live music has such a powerful impact—especially when three of country’s finest talents join forces on one stage.

They say big surprises come in small packages — and sometimes, those surprises have cowboy boots on. While most kids are busy learning the basics, a few have talents that could give seasoned performers a run for their money.

Meet Ezrah Noelle, a young singing sensation whose voice is anything but small. She’s been belting out tunes since she was just a little girl, and when she stepped onto the stage at the Centennial Rodeo Opry in OKC’s Stockyards City, the audience was in for a treat they wouldn’t forget.

Dressed head to toe like a true cowgirl — pink T-shirt, boots, and a classic cowboy hat — Ezrah charmed the crowd before she even sang a note. But the moment she opened her mouth to perform LeAnn Rimes’ hit “Cowboy Sweetheart,” the room lit up with excitement. Her voice carried power, confidence, and a whole lot of country spirit.

And just when the audience thought they’d heard it all, Ezrah pulled out a surprise — yodeling. Not just any yodeling, but the kind that makes you grin from ear to ear. The crowd cheered, clapped, and whooped along, completely swept up in the performance.

It’s clear that Ezrah’s stage presence and talent are way beyond her years. One thing’s for sure — whether she’s singing a classic country hit or yodeling her heart out, this tiny cowgirl knows how to make a big impression.

On Thursday, May 16, country music’s brightest stars gathered in Frisco, Texas, for the 59th Annual ACM Awards. Hosted by the legendary Reba McEntire, the night was packed with powerhouse performances from Chris Stapleton, Lainey Wilson, Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean, and many more. Reba even treated the crowd to her brand-new song, “I Can’t.”

In the weeks leading up to the show, fans speculated about what songs would be performed, but the details were kept under wraps until just days before. That’s when it was revealed that Jason Aldean would be paying tribute to his late friend, Toby Keith—a moment that quickly became one of the most emotional highlights of the evening.

Jason and Toby shared a special bond, especially in the last months of Toby’s life. In October, just four months before Toby passed away, Jason surprised his Oklahoma City crowd by bringing Toby on stage. “There’s only one guy you think of when you come to Oklahoma City. So make some noise for… Toby Keith!” Jason announced. The two sang “Should’ve Been A Cowboy” together, and Toby sounded as strong as ever—a memory made even more poignant by his passing a short time later.

When news broke of Toby’s death, Jason shared heartfelt words alongside photos from that October night, writing:

“Today is a sad day for Country music and its fans. Toby was a huge presence in our business and someone we all looked up to and respected. You and your music will be forever remembered, big man.”

At the ACM Awards, Jason chose that same song—“Should’ve Been A Cowboy”—to honor Toby. He slowed the tempo, adding the richness of a string quartet, while photos of Toby’s incredible career lit up the screens behind him. The performance was raw, heartfelt, and deeply moving.

In the audience, Toby’s wife Tricia, daughters Shelley and Krystal, and son Stelen were visibly emotional, wiping away tears during and after the song. It was the first time Tricia had appeared publicly with her children since Toby’s passing, making the moment even more meaningful.

After the show, the Covel family shared a message on Toby’s social media:

“The Covel family would like to thank Jason Aldean for the wonderfully touching performance at the ACM Awards tonight. It was the perfect tribute to Toby Keith.”

It was more than just a performance—it was a reminder of Toby’s lasting impact on country music and the deep friendships he built along the way.

Cody Johnson gave his Nashville fans a night they’ll never forget when he brought out country music legends Brooks & Dunn for the first-ever live performance of their duet, “Long Live Country Music.”

Midway through his February 2nd show at Bridgestone Arena, Johnson hinted that “special guests” were on the way. As the crowd buzzed with curiosity, he explained his passion for real live music—no backing tracks, just musicians giving it their all. Moments later, he welcomed Brooks & Dunn to the stage, and the arena erupted in cheers.

Before launching into the song, Johnson shared how deeply the duo had influenced him. “I’ve strived my whole career to try to keep country music alive because of these two men right here,” he said. Wearing his signature cowboy hat, pearl-snap shirt, and Wranglers, Johnson joined the “Neon Moon” hitmakers for a foot-stomping, heartfelt performance. The crowd sang along to the chorus:

“Long live country music / Long live longnecks, bar stools, neon Saturday nights / Oh, long live country music / May that three-chord dirt-road soundtrack to our lives never die.”

Afterward, a grinning Johnson told the sold-out crowd, “I just played a song with Brooks & Dunn.” The track, co-written by Trent Willmon, Phil O’Donnell, and Wade Kirby, appears on Johnson’s 2023 album Leather and is a love letter to the genre, filled with nods to icons like Patsy Cline, Deana Carter, and the Grand Ole Opry.

Johnson revealed the idea for the song came after a CMT Awards speech where he closed with, “Long live country music.” That same night, the song was written, and after some back-and-forth over who would record it, Johnson and Brooks & Dunn decided to cut it together—three artists united in their mission to keep traditional country alive.

Leather also features hits like “The Painter” and “Whiskey Beat” with Jelly Roll. Johnson has hinted that a deluxe edition with 12 new tracks—including a duet with Carrie Underwood—is coming soon.

Right now, Johnson is in the middle of his headlining Leather Tour, joined by guests like Justin Moore, Dillon Carmichael, Chris Janson, and Drake Milligan. But for Nashville fans, that February night—three cowboys on stage, playing real country music—will be hard to top.

Some people celebrate their birthdays with cake and candles—but for one lucky fan, her 84th came with something even sweeter: a hug from Blake Shelton himself.

At his Greensboro, NC concert on March 1, Blake was mid-show when he spotted a sign in the crowd that read, “May I Hug You For My 84th Birthday?” With a grin and a playful tease, he replied, “How you gonna put that kinda pressure on someone in front of all these d** people?”* The audience roared with laughter.

Without missing a beat, Blake invited her on stage just as he kicked off his 2011 hit “All About Tonight”—the perfect party song for a birthday queen. She danced her way to him, showing off moves that could rival someone half her age. Blake welcomed her with a warm, bear-sized hug (all 6’5″ of him), making it a moment she’ll treasure forever.

Alongside Blake, fans can catch performances from country favorites like Craig Morgan, Deana Carter, Trace Adkins, and rising star Emily Ann Roberts. The tour wraps up on March 21 in State College, PA—but for one fan in Greensboro, the night will live in her memory forever.
