Ella Langley and Riley Green brought plenty of laughs to the stage during the latest stop of the Damn Country Music Tour at First Bank Amphitheater in Franklin, Tennessee. Fans were treated to the usual charm and chemistry of the duo performing their hit singles “You Look Like You Love Me” and “Don’t Mind If I Do”—but last night came with an extra dose of comedy.
Traditionally, Ella makes a dramatic entrance from the top of the stage risers, with Riley playing the polite Southern gentleman as he helps her down. The “flirty” routine always gets the crowd swooning—but this time, Langley decided to spice things up.
She returned to the stage sporting a fake mustache, poking fun at Riley’s own recent facial hair change that had the internet buzzing. Green didn’t notice at first as he scanned the crowd, but when he finally turned around and saw the furry addition, the two couldn’t stop laughing. Riley even threw his hands up in disbelief as fans cheered.
Later in the song, Riley cleverly worked the prank into the lyrics:
“Well, I was down at a local beer joint with a few of the guys
When this cute little country girl caught my eye
And boy, let me tell you, she was the prettiest thing I’d ever seen with bangs and boots, and a mustache…”
Fans loved the playful energy, and props to Ella for confidently rocking the fake mustache before jokingly placing it on Riley’s shirt.
The stunt also ties back to the mustache’s origin story. Ella revealed that she encouraged Riley to keep the stache during the “YLLYLM” music video because she was inspired by old westerns and thought it fit perfectly with the song’s vibe. She joked, “Everyone’s excited about Riley’s mustache—you can thank me, God, and his parents. I told Riley he couldn’t shave it off for the video… and now, a year later, we’re still stuck with it!”
