A little humor goes a long way — especially when it’s shared between two artists with killer chemistry.
Ella Langley and Riley Green were all smiles (and mustaches) on stage again, putting any fan rumors of tension to rest with a playful moment during the Damn Country Music Tour stop at FirstBank Amphitheater in Franklin, Tennessee.
The night was already full of highlights — including Riley bringing his bus driver on stage to jam during “There Was This Girl.” But it was Ella Langley’s surprise during their duet “You Look Like You Love Me” that really stole the show.
As part of their usual onstage routine, Ella enters from the top of the stage risers while Riley plays the Southern gentleman, helping her down the steps as they flirt their way into the duet. It’s a bit that gets fans swooning every time. But this time? Ella had a twist up her sleeve.
Right before joining Riley onstage, she slapped on a ridiculously fake mustache — a nod to the online buzz around Riley’s own signature stache (and the chaos that ensued when he briefly shaved it off).
The audience caught it immediately. Riley? Not so much — at least not until he turned around to help her down the steps. The second he saw the mustache, he broke into laughter, throwing his hand up in disbelief as Ella grinned from under her furry disguise.
Being the quick-witted artist he is, Riley rolled with it — even changing the lyrics mid-song to match the moment:
“…She was the prettiest thing I’d ever seen with bangs and boots… and a mustache.”
The crowd lost it. Fans were laughing, cheering, and praising the duo for bringing humor and heart to their performance.
Ella eventually pulled the mustache off and slapped it onto Riley’s shirt, sealing the prank with a flourish. Fans online called it one of the most relatable and hilarious moments of the tour.
And it turns out, Ella might be the reason Riley still has that stache in the first place. After co-directing the music video for “You Look Like You Love Me,” she convinced him to keep it — at least through filming.
“I told Riley he couldn’t shave it before the shoot,” Ella shared. “It had to have that old Western feel. I grew up watching Westerns with my dad every Sunday after church, so I wanted the video to reflect that vibe.”
Now, a year later, the mustache is still going strong — and apparently, so is the fun between these two. As Ella put it:
“You can thank me… and God and his parents… for the stache. We’re stuck this way now.”
With their hilarious energy, stage chemistry, and now comedy chops, it’s no wonder Ella Langley and Riley Green are becoming one of country music’s favorite duos.
