“That day is the brightest of my career, but it’s also the darkest.”
That’s how Ella Langley described her unforgettable night at the ACM Awards—a night filled with career highs, including eight nominations and five major wins. But behind the bright lights and big smiles, Ella was quietly carrying a heavy emotional weight.
In a candid conversation on The Scotty Kay Show, Ella shared that she’s been struggling with her mental health—a challenge that she says runs deep in her family.
“I won’t lie, this last week has probably been one of the toughest mental health weeks I’ve had in a long time,” she admitted. “Which is crazy, because so many amazing things are happening—things I’ve prayed for and dreamed about. But it’s just part of my family’s story.”
Despite the outward success, Ella opened up about how important it is to remember that appearances can be deceiving. Just because someone seems to be on top of the world doesn’t mean they aren’t fighting a private battle.
“I think it’s important to be honest about it,” she said. “Just because it looks like I’m on the mountaintop doesn’t mean it feels like that every day.”
Finding Strength Through Faith
Through it all, Ella says her faith has been her anchor. She shared how leaning on God has brought her peace in the chaos.
“God has chosen you,” she reminds herself often. “I’ve gotten so close with Him these past few months.”
On the God’s Country podcast, Ella sounded hopeful about what’s ahead. “I’m really excited about where I’m going next,” she said. “I’m just letting God take the wheel, honestly.”
Her honesty is a powerful reminder that even in our highest moments, it’s okay to not be okay—and that faith, community, and vulnerability can help light the way forward.
