Lainey Wilson once again proved why she’s one of country music’s brightest stars with a powerful cover of Bon Jovi’s Livin’ On A Prayer. The performance was part of the grand opening celebration for her good friend Jelly Roll’s new downtown Nashville bar, Goodnight Nashville, and fans couldn’t get enough.
Wilson’s performance at Jelly Roll’s bar wasn’t just a special moment—it was a full-circle one. The two artists share a strong friendship and a history of musical collaboration. Their 2023 duet, Save Me, from Jelly Roll’s debut country album Whitsitt Chapel, became a massive hit, earning them a Grammy nomination for Best Country Duo/Group Performance.
Jelly Roll’s Goodnight Nashville, located at 209 Broadway, isn’t far from Wilson’s own honky-tonk, Bell Bottoms Up Bar, at 120 3rd Avenue South. The two artists are now neighbors in more ways than one.
“For years, I’ve said if I ever had a bar on Broadway, I’d name it Bell Bottoms Up,” Wilson told Fox Business. “I’ve had that idea for a long time, and I think we kind of spoke it into existence.”
Wilson wants her bar to reflect her signature Bell Bottom Country vibe. “I want people to feel like they can come in, be themselves, and lean into the things that make them unique,” she explained. “It’s going to tell a story—and I’m a sucker for a good story.”
Her bar now stands where Florida Georgia Line’s iconic FGL House once was, filling the space with a fresh country energy following the duo’s split.
Not only are Wilson and Jelly Roll close friends and business neighbors, but they’re also battling for the top spot on the country charts. Jelly Roll currently holds No. 1 with Liar, while Wilson is right behind at No. 2 with 4X4XU, a song inspired by her fiancé, Devlin “Duck” Hodges.
With her electrifying Livin’ On A Prayer performance and her continued success, Wilson shows no signs of slowing down. Fans can expect even more surprises from this powerhouse artist as she continues to make waves in country music.
