Phil Robertson — beloved Duck Dynasty star, family patriarch, and bold Christian voice — has passed away at the age of 78. Just months after being diagnosed with a blood disorder and Alzheimer’s, the man who captured hearts with his authenticity and unshakable faith is now at peace.

His family shared the bittersweet news in a heartfelt message on social media:

“Today we celebrate that our father, husband, and grandfather, Phil Robertson, is now with the Lord. He often reminded us of the words, ‘You do not grieve like those who have no hope…’ We’re comforted knowing he’s with Jesus.

Thank you to everyone who has prayed, supported, and been impacted by his story of redemption and his desire to share the Good News. His life was a testimony to grace, and we’ll carry on his legacy with love and purpose.”

A Life Bigger Than TV
Though many knew Phil from Duck Dynasty, his story began long before reality TV. He was a standout college quarterback and founder of the wildly successful Duck Commander brand — but it was his spiritual journey that truly defined him.

From a life once marked by struggle to one transformed by faith, Phil often shared how Jesus turned his story around. And he didn’t keep that message to himself — he made it his mission to share it with anyone who would listen.

In recent months, sons Jase and Al opened up about Phil’s declining health on their podcast Unashamed. Jase spoke openly about sensing his dad was preparing for “the journey to the other side.”

And Phil? He faced it with peace.

“When I die, don’t cry,” he once said on the podcast. “Sing. Dance. But don’t cry when I die. Just say, ‘He made it.’”

In a YouTube video, he echoed that hope:

“You’ll hear I’ve died — but don’t believe it. I didn’t pass away. I just moved from the tent to immortality… raised, glorified, and with Him forever.”

A Family’s Love
Phil’s grandchildren shared emotional tributes, celebrating the man they knew as “Papaw.”

Sadie Robertson Huff posted touching memories along with photos, writing:

“He already experienced going from dead to alive in Christ — and now, he’s fully alive with Him. His testimony changed our family and so many others. One of the last things he said to me was, ‘Full strength ahead!’ Amen.”

Bella Mayo added:

“My Papaw Phil is now where he always longed to be — with his Father in heaven. I already miss him, but I know I’ll see him again.”

Honoring His Legacy
The Robertson family will hold a private service, but they’re planning a public memorial so fans and friends can honor the man who inspired millions.

Phil Robertson leaves behind not just a television legacy, but a far greater one — a legacy of grace, grit, transformation, and unwavering faith.

Our hearts are with the Robertson family during this time. May his story continue to inspire, and may we all live with the kind of bold hope Phil carried every day.
