Country music star Riley Green is showing a different side of himself—literally—as the new face of Gildan’s underwear and basics campaign. The Alabama native kicked things off in style on National Underwear Day (August 5, 2023), and the buzz hasn’t slowed down since.
In the launch video, Green confidently sports a pair of sleek black Gildan boxer briefs during a workout session, giving fans a peek at both his sense of humor and his gym routine. Later in the ad, he throws on a classic Gildan white tee, grabs his guitar, and jokingly asks, “Are you sure you don’t need me to take my shirt off?” as models pose nearby.
“Whether I’m on stage, working out, or on the farm, Gildan keeps me comfortable,” Green shared in a press release. “Life’s busy and a little crazy sometimes—partnering with Gildan just made sense.”
Gildan’s top execs couldn’t agree more. Chuck Ward, President of Sales, Marketing and Distribution, called Green the perfect choice. “He connects with fans in a real, relatable way. Having him wear Gildan during life’s everyday moments is a great way for us to connect with our audience,” he said.
As part of the year-long collaboration, Green will be seen rocking Gildan’s t-shirts, socks, and underwear onstage, backstage, at home, and everywhere in between. Gildan is also offering special deals on Riley’s favorite items on Amazon and even hosting giveaways on Instagram.
A “Very” Uncomfortable Photoshoot?
Riley first teased the campaign during an appearance on The Bobby Bones Show, where he admitted the underwear shoot pushed him out of his comfort zone.
“I went in to record a few songs… then next thing I know, I’m doing a photo shoot for an underwear brand,” he laughed. When pressed if he was actually “just in underwear,” Green coyly replied, “We’ll see.”
He went on to describe the experience as “very uncomfortable,” adding, “They had me doing a lot of different things… I wasn’t in my underwear the whole time, thank God!”
From Modeling to Music
Despite the shift to modeling, Riley’s still all about the music. He recently wrapped up his support slot on Luke Combs’ massive 2023 World Tour. Playing stadiums like Lincoln Financial Field in Philly and AT&T Stadium in Texas, Green soaked in the experience of performing in front of 50,000+ fans.

“There’s a big learning curve to a show that size,” he admitted. “But it’s been awesome. Luke’s fans are wild, and they really connect with the music I’m putting out.”
Each night on tour, Riley and Combs performed a live duet of “Does To Me” and later dropped a new version of Green’s track “Different ‘Round Here,” which originally appeared on his 2019 album. The updated version—featuring Combs—has racked up hundreds of millions of streams and quickly became a radio favorite.
The track celebrates family, hard work, small-town pride, and honoring those who serve. It’s a message that continues to strike a chord with fans.

In between tour dates and underwear shoots, Green is gearing up for more live shows at major festivals, including Boots and Hearts, Bulls, Bands & Barrels, and Voices of America Country Fest.
From modeling boxer briefs to belting out country anthems in stadiums, Riley Green is proving he’s more than just a pretty face—he’s a genuine country artist, a relatable guy, and now, the (reluctant) star of one very memorable underwear campaign.
