Here we have listed the television series of Star Wars at last so that it would be a bit easy so you can either watch these series serially or you can also watch it after you finish all the movies first. Personally, I think that watching series serially with the movie would be a hassle so If I were you then I would watch the series after I finish watching the movies.

Machete Order

So you are a hardcore fan of Star Wars and trying to watch it again? Then you should try watching it in Machete order cause it will change your experience. So what’s special about the Machete order? That is what I am about to explain.

In this order you will start watching movies from Episode IV – A New Hope, Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back, Episode II – Attack of the Clones, Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, and after that, you will watch Episode VI – Return of the Jedi.

In this order, you will skip Episode I – The Phantom Menace completely as the movie fails on many things and it is self-sufficient and has no link with its prequel. I think that most of us feel kind of uncomfortable seeing their romance because of their age gap but in this order, we can see or feel like they are old friends from their childhood and you can enjoy the movie without feeling uncomfortable.

But if you still want to add The Phantom Menace to your watch list then you can follow the guideline of the Machete Order’s creator Rod Hilton. Hilton suggests that if you are still watching The Phantom Menace then you can watch it after you watch the whole movie like other non-compulsory movies like Rogue One and Solo. Here is the list of Machete Order.

  • Episode IV – A New Hope (Release Date: May 25, 1977)
  • Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back (Release Date: May 21, 1980)
  • Episode II – Attack of the Clones (Release Date: May 16, 2002)
  • Episode III – Revenge of the Sith (Release Date: May 19, 2005)
  • Episode VII – The Force Awakens (Release Date: December 18, 2015)
  • Episode VIII – The Last Jedi (Release Date: December 15, 2017)
  • Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker (Release Date: December 20, 2019)
  • Episode I – The Phantom Menace (Release Date: May 19, 1999) (non-compulsory)
  • Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (Release Date: December 16, 2016) (non-compulsory)
  • Solo: A Star Wars Story (Release Date: May 25, 2018) (non-compulsory)

Rinster Order (Godfather Order)

This order is called Rinster because it is named after one of the diehard Star Wars fans Ernest Rinster. If you are a fan of Star Wars then you might already know who Rinster is and also he has some importance in the Star Wars community.

There is also an order called ‘Godfather Order’ and both Rinster and Godfather orders are the same which is why I am listing or placing both in one. By the way, Rinster order came before the Godfather order, though you might want to know. So here goes the list of Rinster and Godfather orders.

Where Can You Watch Star Wars Movies?

The easiest way to watch Star Wars is to subscribe to Disney+ where most of the Star Wars movies and shows are available but if you don’t want to subscribe to Disney+ then there are also other options.

You can buy digital six collections of Star Wars from Google Movies, Amazon, and iTunes. You can also subscribe to Amazon Prime Video where you can watch Star Wars movies.

Another option is you can find a DVD collection of Star Wars movies and shows and watch it. I think you can also find the DVD of Star Wars on Amazon.
