Alex Van Halen recently used Instagram to remember his brother, Eddie. He posted a photo of them together with the caption “We miss you.” Eddie’s son, Wolfgang, also shared his feelings on social media. He posted a photo with his dad, expressing how much he missed him and wishing he could celebrate his 69th birthday together.
Alex has stayed mostly out of the public eye since Eddie passed away in October 2020. In 2021, he shared his thoughts on Eddie’s first birthday since his passing, saying, “First birthday without you, Ed. The view from my drum set will never be the same. VH forever!”
Eddie Van Halen died in Santa Monica, California, after a battle with lung cancer. Fans paid tribute to him at his childhood home in Pasadena and other significant places. Eddie had tried treatment in Germany, but the cancer spread to his spine and brain. He was 65 years old. His death certificate listed a cerebrovascular event, pneumonia, myelodysplastic syndrome, and lung cancer as the causes.
