In the summer of 2016, country artist Craig Morgan experienced a heartbreak no parent should ever face—his 19-year-old son, Jerry, tragically lost his life in a tubing accident on Kentucky Lake in Tennessee. The grief was overwhelming, and life would never be the same.

But from that deep sorrow came something extraordinary.

“It was around 2:30 in the morning,” Craig shared. “I was lying in bed when a melody and lyrics just came to me—before I even opened my eyes. I was already singing it in my head.”

That moment sparked the creation of “The Father, My Son, and the Holy Ghost,” a deeply personal ballad about loss, faith, and the enduring bond between father and son. Craig debuted it at the Grand Ole Opry in July 2019, thinking it might be the only time he’d ever perform it.

But country legend Ricky Skaggs had other thoughts.

“You’ve got to keep singing this,” Ricky told Craig backstage. “The world needs this song.”

Craig listened—and the world did too.

Blake Shelton Steps In With a Mission
Moved by the raw emotion in the song, Blake Shelton—Craig’s longtime friend—launched a heartfelt campaign to bring it the attention it deserved. He posted passionately on Twitter, urging fans to download the song and push it to the top of the iTunes charts.

“I don’t care if it knocks my own song off the charts,” Blake tweeted. “This is the most important song on Earth right now. Let’s get Craig to No. 1.”

And it worked.

Radio stations played it. Fans rallied. And soon, “The Father, My Son, and the Holy Ghost” soared to No. 1 on iTunes—an incredible achievement for an independently released track.

The Kelly Clarkson Show

“Congratulations @cmorganmusic. This one’s for Jerry,” Blake wrote in a touching follow-up post.

Craig responded with gratitude:
“Blake Shelton, you are a true friend and a champion for country music. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

A Moment to Remember on The Kelly Clarkson Show
The emotional journey reached another unforgettable peak when Craig performed the song live on The Kelly Clarkson Show. Just before taking the stage, Kelly revealed a surprise—Blake Shelton was sitting in the audience alongside her and actress Eva Mendes.

As Craig sang, pouring every ounce of feeling into the performance, the room fell silent. His voice cracked with emotion. The lyrics echoed through the studio like a prayer.

By the end, Kelly, Blake, and Eva were all wiping away tears—on their feet, overwhelmed by the sincerity of the moment.

“That wasn’t just a song,” Kelly said later. “That was a prayer.”

This song became more than just music—it became a message of hope for anyone walking through heartbreak. Craig Morgan turned personal tragedy into something that resonates deeply, and with friends like Blake Shelton by his side, his message continues to lift hearts around the world.

It was a night Nashville won’t soon forget. Rising country star John Foster took the stage at a sold-out benefit concert—and fans were already buzzing. But what happened next sent the crowd into a frenzy.

Without any warning, Foster was joined by a true legend: George Strait himself.

As the spotlight narrowed and the crowd held its breath, the two launched into a stunning rendition of Strait’s timeless hit, “I Cross My Heart.” The moment was electric—two generations of country music coming together in one emotional, unforgettable performance.

Foster opened the song with his signature raw, gravelly vocals—vulnerable, heartfelt, and full of soul. Then, as if from a dream, Strait’s smooth, iconic voice joined in, giving the crowd chills as the pair blended perfectly on the chorus.

The chemistry between them was undeniable. Verse after verse, they shared the mic and the moment, and by the final note, the entire audience was on its feet, cheering and wiping away tears.

Even longtime country music pros were moved. “This wasn’t just a duet—it felt like history being made,” said CMA producer Will Jenkins. “It was a torch-passing moment, no doubt about it.”

Strait himself had nothing but praise. “I’ve sung with a lot of folks,” he told the crowd after their standing ovation, “but John? That’s a once-in-a-generation voice right there.”

Humbled, Foster simply smiled and mouthed “thank you” as the crowd roared with approval.

It didn’t take long for the internet to catch fire. The hashtag #StraitFosterDuet started trending immediately, and fans were quick to share their reactions:

“Goosebumps. Straight-up magic.”
“This duet needs to be on every playlist, everywhere.”
“Country music just had its most powerful moment in years.”

The surprise duet video racked up over 10 million views in less than a day, and both artists saw a huge spike in streaming numbers.

And here’s the kicker—this might just be the beginning. Rumors are already swirling that Foster and Strait have recorded several tracks together, with talk of a possible joint EP or even a surprise album.

“If you thought this duet was special,” one insider teased, “just wait. There’s more magic on the way.”

With moments like this, it’s clear something special is happening. John Foster may be the new kid on the block, but with George Strait by his side, he’s stepping into country music history with both boots on the ground.

Country singers Jay Allen and Kylie Morgan have officially gone their separate ways after more than two years as husband and wife.

Jay Allen—known for his heartfelt songs and appearance on The Voice (Season 22)—shared the news in an honest and heartfelt Instagram post on Tuesday, May 27. The couple tied the knot back in November 2022 in a beautiful Florida beach ceremony. Fans may have noticed Kylie hasn’t appeared on Allen’s social media since he posted sweet wedding throwbacks last November to celebrate their second anniversary.

BREAKING: Jay Allen Confirms Divorce ...

“It’s with peace in my heart that I feel it’s time to share this… Kylie and I separated 6 months ago and made the decision to get divorced,” Allen wrote. “I’ve been on a journey of sobriety, healing, growing, leaning into God, and I’ve moved on. I will always care for Kylie & wish her the best.”

He ended his message with the powerful reminder: “GOD’S PLAN IS GREATER,” referencing Proverbs 3:5-6—a Bible verse about trusting in God’s guidance.

Though Kylie hasn’t publicly responded yet, fans and fellow artists have shown support for both of them during this new chapter. Divorce is never easy, especially in the public eye, but it’s clear both artists are focusing on healing and growth moving forward.

Blake Shelton brought serious country heat to the stage at the 2025 American Music Awards in Las Vegas on Monday night (May 26), performing his bold new anthem “Stay Country Or Die Tryin’.”

The track, full of down-home pride and Southern sayings, opens Shelton’s brand-new album For Recreational Use Only. It was written by Drew Parker, Graham Barham, Sam Ellis, and Beau Bailey—but as soon as Shelton heard it, he knew it was something special.

“When I first listened to it, it instantly reminded me of songs like ‘Ol’ Red’ and ‘God’s Country,’” Blake shared. “It’s got that high energy and a bunch of catchy country phrases. I loved it right away—and I love singing it live even more.”

AMAS 2025: Gwen Stefani and Blake ...

His performance at the AMAs was a perfect kickoff for the new era. For Recreational Use Only just dropped earlier this month and features 12 tracks, including collaborations with some familiar names. Fans can hear “Heaven Sweet Home” with Craig Morgan, “Years” with John Anderson, and a new emotional duet with wife Gwen Stefani called “Hangin’ On.” The couple, known for hits like “Nobody But You” and “Happy Anywhere,” are back with a breakup-style twist this time.

The album also includes “Texas,” Blake’s most recent No. 1 hit—a track that tips its hat to the great George Strait.

“It’s hard to believe it’s been four years since my last album,” Shelton said. “I’m always looking for songs that feel fresh—something that hasn’t been said before, or a melody that stands out. Looking back, I’m proud that a lot of my music doesn’t sound like anything else out there. And I think this new album keeps that going.”

Kenny Chesney kicked off his highly anticipated Vegas residency in an unforgettable way—by surprising fans with a special guest during opening night at the Sphere in Las Vegas!

Kenny Chesney's Sphere Setlist: Every ...

On Thursday, May 22, country star Kelsea Ballerini—who, like Chesney, hails from East Tennessee—joined him on stage for a heartwarming performance of their duet, “half of my hometown.” The emotional song, which originally appeared on Ballerini’s 2020 album kelsea, has always held a special place in her heart. She’s said before that having Chesney, a hometown hero, sing it with her was a dream come true.

The surprises didn’t stop there. The two teamed up again for a fun throwback to Chesney’s 90s hit “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy,” and Ballerini also stepped in to sing “You and Tequila,” originally recorded with Grace Potter.

Chesney’s first night at the Sphere was filled with career-spanning hits, stunning visuals, and personal moments—including a touching nod to Taylor Swift, his former tour opener, during “Big Star.” Fans also got a behind-the-scenes glimpse of rehearsals with clips from “Beer In Mexico.”

“This is going to be a whole new way of rocking the fans,” Chesney shared ahead of the show, explaining how the Sphere’s immersive 4D technology and next-level sound helped create a powerful connection with his loyal No Shoes Nation. “When people give you that much heart, I want to give them even more.”

After night one, Chesney reflected on the experience with gratitude and excitement, calling it the “start of something special” and thanking his friend Kelsea Ballerini for being part of such a magical night.

Ballerini later posted about the experience, saying, “He’s the first country artist to headline the Sphere, and I had the honor to witness him do what he does best. Kenny, I just love you so much!”

The country magic continues this summer in Vegas—and if night one is any sign, fans are in for something truly unforgettable.

One of Carrie Underwood’s most powerful hits has earned a spot among the greatest country songs of all time—and it all started with a childhood story.

Carrie Underwood Sings Motorhead's 'Ace of Spades' for GNR Fans

“Jesus, Take the Wheel,” the breakout ballad from her 2005 debut album Some Hearts, helped launch Carrie into country superstardom after winning American Idol. Now, nearly two decades later, the emotional track has been recognized by the Grand Ole Opry as one of the 100 Greatest Country Songs ever—just in time for the Opry’s 100th anniversary in 2025.

The song’s backstory is just as moving as the lyrics. Songwriter Gordie Sampson shared a memory from his aunt, who once told him about losing control of her car on an icy road and calling out to God for help. That moment inspired the phrase, “Jesus, take the wheel,” and soon, with the help of fellow writers Brett James and Hillary Lindsey, the now-iconic song came to life.

At the time, Carrie hadn’t even won American Idol yet. But when the single dropped in 2005, it quickly soared—spending six weeks at No. 1, winning two Grammy Awards, and earning the ACM Single of the Year.

Her performance of the song also caught the attention of Randy Travis, who surprised Carrie with an invitation to join the Grand Ole Opry in 2008. Since then, her career has only continued to shine—selling over 85 million records, winning eight Grammys, and inspiring a new generation of country stars like Lauren Alaina, Kelsea Ballerini, and Carly Pearce.

“Jesus, Take the Wheel” joins other 2000s-era classics on the Opry’s list, including Blake Shelton’s “Austin,” Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffett’s “It’s 5 O’Clock Somewhere,” and Lady A’s “Need You Now.” The full list is being revealed throughout the summer, celebrating the songs that have shaped the heart of country music.

Jake Owen recently paid heartfelt tribute to country music legend Alan Jackson, who announced his retirement from touring. In a video shared on social media, Owen performed Jackson’s song “Job Description” from the 1994 album Who I Am, describing it as “one of my all-time faves of Alan’s.”

Owen reflected on his experience touring with Jackson and Brooks & Dunn in 2007, stating, “I’ll always remember that feeling of watching my heroes.” He added that the song holds new meaning for him now, as he continues to navigate his own journey in country music.

Alan Jackson, 66, performed his final road show earlier this month in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, as part of his “Last Call: One More for the Road Tour.” He plans a “big finale” in Nashville next year, emphasizing the significance of concluding his touring career in the city where it all began.

This emotional homage underscores the deep respect and admiration within the country music community, as artists like Owen honor the legacies of those who paved the way.

Country fans were treated to a surprise performance at the Grand Ole Opry when HARDY took the stage for a special duet of his hit song “Wait in the Truck.” But instead of singing alongside original collaborator Lainey Wilson, the spotlight turned to rising country artist Ella Langley, who stepped in for the powerful performance—and left a lasting impression.

HARDY Opry Debut: Fans Share Opinions About Ella Langley Duet

According to iHeartRadio and EntertainmentNow, Ella Langley filled in unexpectedly for Lainey Wilson, bringing her own fire and emotion to the song’s chilling storyline. The duet, which tells a dramatic tale of justice, heartbreak, and redemption, requires serious vocal strength and emotional depth—and Langley delivered both in spades.

The Grand Ole Opry, known for its tradition and talent, became the perfect backdrop for the performance. HARDY, known for his gritty vocals and bold storytelling, commanded the stage, while Langley matched his intensity with a haunting vocal delivery that captivated the audience from start to finish.

Fans quickly took to social media to praise the performance, calling the duet “powerful,” “goosebump-inducing,” and “one of the standout Opry moments of the year.” Many were impressed by how seamlessly Langley stepped into a role originally made iconic by Wilson, noting her strong stage presence and vocal chemistry with HARDY.

While Lainey Wilson’s version of the track has received critical acclaim and awards, Ella Langley’s performance proved she’s more than capable of holding her own alongside country’s biggest stars. Her ability to step up on such a legendary stage and deliver such an emotional performance is just more proof that she’s a star on the rise.

Though the fill-in may have been unexpected, the result was undeniably powerful—an unforgettable Opry moment that brought a new energy to one of country music’s most gripping songs.

Luke Bryan may be known for his chart-topping hits and sold-out shows, but his most touching act didn’t happen on stage—it happened back home in Leesburg, Georgia. The country star and American Idol judge just bought his childhood house for $3.9 million. But this wasn’t a nostalgia buy or a luxury flip. This was something much deeper. Luke did it to fulfill a promise to his mom, LeClaire—and to give back to families in need.

Turning Memories Into a Mission
LeClaire Bryan, a fan favorite for her big personality and even bigger heart, has always dreamed of turning the house her family once called home into a place of comfort and care for others. Now, that dream is coming true. With her son’s help, the home will soon become a shelter for families experiencing homelessness.

“We didn’t have a lot growing up,” LeClaire once shared. “But we always had love. I’ve always wanted to help families who need a place to feel safe.”

And now, thanks to Luke, that wish is becoming reality.

A Surprise Years in the Making
Luke reportedly bought the house in secret after his mom spotted it listed for sale and casually mentioned how special it would be to do something meaningful with it. Without missing a beat, Luke made it happen.

“Luke’s always been about family first,” said longtime friend and fellow artist Jason Aldean. “But this is a whole new level. He didn’t just buy a house—he brought his mom’s dream to life.”

A Home With Heart
Renovations are already underway to transform the modest home into a fully equipped shelter, complete with private rooms, a shared kitchen, therapy spaces—and even a music room.

“Music has always been healing for me,” Luke said. “So we want this home to be a place where people feel that same kind of healing and hope.”

LeClaire will be the heart and soul of the shelter, greeting families and offering them the same love she poured into raising Luke and his siblings.

“This isn’t just charity,” she said. “This is going to be a home. A real home.”

A Small Town, Big Emotions
The news has touched the entire community. Leesburg locals, proud and emotional, are already offering to lend a hand—whether it’s cooking meals, planting flowers, or just sitting down to share stories and support.

“This is what country music is really about,” said one neighbor. “It’s about community, heart, and giving back.”

Built on Love and Loss
Luke’s journey has been shaped by heartbreak. He lost his brother in a tragic car crash at 19, and years later, his sister passed away unexpectedly. Luke and his wife stepped in to help raise her children. These experiences deepened his belief in family, love, and faith.

“This shelter is for my mom,” he shared. “But it’s also for every person who’s ever felt alone. We all need someone to catch us when we fall.”

Coming Just in Time for the Holidays
The shelter is set to open its doors by Thanksgiving—perfectly timed for a season of giving and gratitude. And in true LeClaire fashion, she’s already made one rule clear:

“No one eats alone here,” she says with a smile. “Not if I have anything to say about it.”

A Legacy of Love
This isn’t just a renovation. It’s a mission. A love letter from a son to his mother—and from a family that’s known loss, love, and perseverance to a world that could use more of all three.

As LeClaire put it best:
“We can’t undo the past. But we can give someone a better tomorrow.”

And that’s exactly what’s happening in a little house in Leesburg, Georgia.

By now, you’ve probably heard of Riley Green. And if not—where have you been hiding? Just kidding! But seriously, even if his name doesn’t ring a bell right away, chances are you’ve heard that smooth country voice of his on the radio or scrolling through your feed.

At 36, Riley has become one of country music’s favorite leading men, especially after teaming up with fellow Alabama native Ella Langley for their playful duet “You Look Like You Love Me.” Their on-stage chemistry and flirty lyrics had fans swooning—and speculating.

In fact, their performance was such a hit that the song snagged Musical Event of the Year at the 58th Annual Country Music Awards on November 20. And let’s be real, watching them share the stage definitely sparked some curiosity. Are they just duet partners—or something more?

So, are Riley Green and Ella Langley dating?

As cute as they look together on stage, Ella Langley has cleared the air: they’re just good friends.

“Riley was probably the first famous person I ever met,” she shared during a red carpet interview with Taste of Country. “He was playing the same bars I used to go to in Alabama, and I played those same bars later on. It’s awesome to see Alabama people winning!”

But when it comes to romance? Nope! “We’re not dating,” Ella said with a smile. “We’re just really good friends.”

What about Riley—Is he single?
All signs point to yes! Over the years, Riley’s been linked to a few names in the rumor mill, like music manager Sophia Sansone and singer-songwriter Jessica Lynn—but nothing was ever confirmed. As of now, Riley hasn’t posted or spoken publicly about being in a relationship.

What he does love to show off? His sweet relationship with his mom (who was his date to the CMAs and even helped put his cowboy hat on before his performance!), and his adorable dog, Carl.

Carl, his beloved cowboy corgi, has his own Instagram account, and honestly? He might just be the star of Riley’s feed. Whether it’s a tour bus nap or a walk in the woods, Carl is clearly Riley’s number one sidekick. And let’s be honest—if dogs are good judges of character, Riley Green must be top-tier.
