Five Finger Death Punch is currently working on a new album, with plans to release it next year. In an interview with Graspop Metal Meeting, guitarist Zoltan Bathory discussed the band’s progress and their consistent release schedule:
“We are working on a new record, definitely aiming for a release next year. We’re always working on something, and if it’s not time yet, we just put it in the vault.”
Bathory elaborated on why the band releases new albums every two to three years:
“I believe we need to put out an album every two years, three at the most. We’re in a fast lane, and time changes quickly for us. Every two years, we become different people due to various experiences. Each album is a snapshot of where we are, and releasing new music every couple of years helps our fans follow our journey. A longer gap makes it harder for them to connect with us because so much can change in that time.”
Details of the New Single
While specifics about the new album are still under wraps, the band did release a new single in March. In April, Five Finger Death Punch also released an expanded digital version of their 2022 album ‘AfterLife,’ which included a new music video for the bonus track ‘This Is the Way,’ featuring the late rap legend DMX. ‘This Is the Way’ is one of four extra songs on the ‘AfterLife’ reissue and the only one featuring DMX.
