In a heartfelt Instagram post, Joey Jordison’s family expressed to fans that Slipknot isn’t the same without him.

They shared a drawing of the iconic ‘S’ symbol created by the late drummer and wrote in the caption:

“The first tribal ‘S’ drawn by Joey on the desk passed down to him by his dad. To the fans – thank you for always supporting and loving Joey. You meant the world to him. We love you, Joey. Forever our number 1.”

Fan Reactions to the Family’s Message

Fans filled the comments with reflections on his absence from Slipknot. One commented:

“Without Joey, there is no Slipknot.”

Another agreed:

“He’s not a part of Slipknot. He IS Slipknot. We miss you and love you, dear Joey.”

A third fan added:

“Joey and Paul were the heart and brain of the band! What they did will never be erased.”

Jordison’s Estate Sued Slipknot

Last year, TMZ reported that Corey Taylor and Shawn Crahan of Slipknot were accused by Jordison’s estate of profiting from his death. The lawsuit alleged that they used his passing to promote their 2022 album, ‘The End, So Far,’ claiming it was dedicated to him and influenced by his death. The suit also accused Slipknot of falsely stating they had reached out to Jordison’s family to offer condolences:

“While family, friends, and fans mourned the loss of the legendary drummer, neither bandmate expressed condolences to Jordison’s family after his passing. Instead, Taylor and Crahan heartlessly sought to profit off of Jordison’s death.”

The lawsuit further detailed accusations against the band members:

“Taylor publicly dedicated ‘The End, So Far’ to Jordison, claiming that the realization of Jordison’s passing ‘crept in’ while making the album. Taylor even acknowledged mistreating Jordison in an interview, telling fans that they ‘were hoping to mend fences with him, and it’s one of those things that tells you: whatever you need to do, do it now because you never know when you’re gonna lose somebody.’”

The estate, Steamroller, LLC, claimed Slipknot kept 22 of Joey’s belongings, including his Pearl drum set and Adidas sneakers, despite agreeing to return everything after his departure from the band in 2013. These items were allegedly displayed in Slipknot’s traveling museum, Knotfest.

The lawsuit suggested Slipknot never intended to honor their agreement made when they removed Jordison due to health issues. Slipknot denied these claims and sought to have the lawsuit dismissed.
