Nikki Sixx’s Advice To Make A Song: ‘Copy The Greatest Songs’

Nikki Sixx recently engaged in a Q&A session with fans on X, offering valuable insights into the art of songwriting. With a repertoire that includes hits like ‘Shout At The Devil’ and ‘Dr. Feelgood’ for Mötley Crüe, as well as collaborations with icons like Alice Cooper and Meat Loaf, Sixx shared a succinct piece of advice when asked about composing:

“Emulate the greatest songs. Keep your standards high.”

In previous interviews, the bassist emphasized his readiness to capture inspiration on the fly, always equipped with a pencil and paper. Reflecting on his creative process during the recent session, Sixx expressed his fondness for the unpredictable nature of creation:

“I love the unpredictability of how it all unfolds.”

The Artist’s Plans for Mötley Crüe’s Future

Recently, Sixx has been immersed in crafting new material for Mötley Crüe’s upcoming album. According to John 5, the bassist has been churning out exceptional lyrics and music since they began recording in early 2023.

The band had previously announced a December 2024 release date for the album, along with plans for a tour, including festival appearances across the US and Canada leading up to the album launch.

Additionally, Sixx hinted at potential performances in Japan, responding to a fan’s inquiry about their return with optimism:

“Hopefully in 2025.”

Mötley Crüe is slated to kick off their tour at the Hard Rock Hotel Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on May 3.
