P.O.D’s new album *Veritas* has just dropped, but that’s not the only project vocalist Sonny Sandoval has been working on. In a recent interview with Anne Erickson of Audio Ink Radio, Sandoval revealed that he wrote and recorded an entire reggae album during the pandemic lockdowns, which is now ready and waiting to be released.

“I started working on a reggae album at home because we were all stuck inside,” Sandoval shared. “I teamed up with various producers online. I would check out their stuff and say, ‘Hey, send me some tracks.’ I managed to put everything together that way.”

Originally, Sandoval intended to release this reggae project two years ago. However, it was put on hold to focus on P.O.D.’s latest album: “I was planning to release it two years ago, but our label and everyone else were really pushing for a new P.O.D. record. So, the reggae album had to take a back seat.”

Despite the delay, Sandoval’s enthusiasm for reggae hasn’t waned. He plans to release his solo work once P.O.D.’s current tour winds down: “I’ve always been a huge reggae fan. The reggae scene is probably bigger now than ever, with tours happening all around the world. So once the touring cycle for the new P.O.D. album wraps up, I definitely plan to release either an EP or a full record.”

Sandoval also expressed a desire to perform his reggae material live: “I would love to play shows locally and maybe even join a tour with some reggae bands, just because I really enjoy doing it.”
