During a recent chat with Rock Antenne in Germany, PAPA ROACH’s lead vocalist Jacoby Shaddix shared some heartfelt thoughts on his connection with band members Jerry Horton, Tobin Esperance, and Tony Palermo. He described their relationship as a deep-rooted brotherhood formed during their teenage years, a bond he believes is unbreakable.

Shaddix emphasized his commitment to the band, paralleling it with his long-standing marriage to his wife Kelly. He spoke about the constant presence of the band in his life, a journey he approaches with gratitude. Even in moments of exhaustion from touring, the energy and connection on stage reinvigorate his passion, reminding him of why he loves what he does. Shaddix humorously mentioned his lack of other skills, stating music is his life, and he intends to honor the band’s legacy by continuing to create authentic, impactful music.

In another discussion with 99.7 The Blitz, Shaddix unveiled PAPA ROACH’s creative endeavors for 2024, hinting at a busy year ahead with new music in the pipeline, gearing up for the 25th anniversary of their debut album ‘Infest’ in 2025. Plans include a book, tours, and fresh tracks, marking a significant milestone for the band. The frontman is using the current year to spawn a wealth of new music and collaborations, embracing a period of creativity.

In January, PAPA ROACH released a new live version of their hit “Scars” featuring Chris Daughtry, reinterpreted on their latest EP, “Leave A Light (Talk Away The Dark)”. This rendition not only breathes new life into a fan favorite but also reflects the band’s commitment to mental health awareness, underscored by Shaddix’s donation pledge to the American Foundation For Suicide Prevention (AFSP). The emotional resonance of “Scars” during their “Revolutions Live” tour inspired a permanent name change for the song in support of AFSP’s “Talk Away The Dark” campaign, with perpetual royalties from the song pledged to aid the organization’s mission.

PAPA ROACH, known for their advocacy on mental health issues and a catalog that spans over two decades with hits like “Last Resort”, continues to resonate with fans worldwide. Their latest album, “Ego Trip”, further cements their legacy in the rock genre, demonstrating their enduring influence and commitment to making music that matters.
