The Who frontman Roger Daltrey ended his solo concert early on Saturday night in Clearwater, Florida. He was afraid that by continuing, he may hurt his voice.

While performing at Ruth Eckerd Hall and Clearwater, Florida, as part of the Who Was I? Tour, the 78-year-old singer apologized and said he wasn’t feeling well. The Who’s “Naked Eye” was being sung by Daltrey, and everything appeared to be going according to plan with the crowd singing along and enjoying themselves. The rocker, however, didn’t seem to be having much fun since, after playing for a while, he told his band to stop and put his guitar beside the amplifiers. He said that he couldn’t continue. The crowd was also very understanding and showed their support. While departing from the stage the singer said,

“I’m going to do myself some serious damage here, and I’m not going to do it because I’ll never sing again! I’m sorry! You’ll have to ask for refunds. I’ll try and make it up to you. I’m really, really sorry. I am not a robot! I am definitely not a robot! I’m not doing this to myself anymore. Thank you so much for coming.”

He has a lengthy and successful background in music, having published several solo albums, and he has also appeared in numerous movies and television programs as an actor. In addition to his distinctive singing style and charismatic stage appearance, Daltrey is renowned for his impassioned and heartfelt performances. He is still an inspiration to many and is regarded by many as one of the finest rock vocalists of all time. The singer made the right choice, stopping the performance then and saying he wasn’t a robot when he thought that extending the program and the performance might harm his voice.
