Mötley Crüe’s latest move has set the rock world abuzz as they ink a deal with Big Machine Records, heralding a fresh chapter in their storied career just ahead of the release of their much-anticipated single, ‘Dogs of War,’ their first since 2019. The announcement came via a captivating video shared on YouTube, showcasing the band’s iconic members Nikki Sixx, Tommy Lee, and Vince Neil sealing the deal with their signatures.

However, conspicuous by his absence in the video was guitarist John 5, raising questions about his involvement in the band’s recent business decisions. While his signature wasn’t captured in the footage, speculation abounds regarding his role within the band’s inner workings.

The anticipation for ‘Dogs of War’ has reached a fever pitch following a tantalizing teaser on social media. The image depicted the band members transformed into eerie figures, resembling zombies, standing ominously on a desolate road enveloped in smoke. This track, slated for release this Friday, April 26th, marks Mötley Crüe’s first collaboration with John 5, signaling a new sonic era for the legendary rock outfit.

In a recent interview with American Musical Supply, John 5 shed light on the dynamics of thriving within a colossal band like Mötley Crüe. Stepping into the shoes vacated by Mick Mars, John 5 emphasized that prowess as a musician is only part of the equation. He stressed the importance of reliability and authenticity, highlighting the necessity of understanding the hierarchy within the band:

“I believe it’s crucial because mastering your craft—whether it’s guitar, bass, drums, vocals—that’s just half of it. The other half entails being a decent human being because you’re essentially living with these individuals. You need to comprehend who holds the reins, show up on time—essentially, be a good person as you’re in close proximity to them most of the time, not just during the onstage performance, which lasts merely an hour and a half.”
