Andy Biersack Is Concerned About ‘Fake’ Goodness Of Today’s Rock Stars

Andy Biersack believes that today’s rock stars often prioritize image over authenticity.

In a recent interview with Loudwire Nights, the Black Veil Brides’ lead singer shared his disillusionment with the current state of the music industry. He expressed his disappointment in artists who focus more on maintaining a perfect image rather than being genuine:

“What concerns me most is the number of artists who seem so obsessed with being seen as good and great, not just as musicians but as paragons of virtue. If you’re not met with any kind of resistance, there’s no need to be honest about who you are.”

Biersack emphasized the importance of honesty in art, particularly in reflecting the chaos of the world:

“If your job as an artist is to reflect culture and your audience in some capacity, then being flawed is reflective of the people who listen to you. For us, when we face criticism and articles labeling us as the most hated band, it’s easier for me to be open about my insecurities and discomforts.”

Biersack’s Response to Critics

In an April interview with Nik Nocturnal, Andy addressed the band’s detractors who label them as ‘screamo.’ He clarified that Black Veil Brides doesn’t fit that description and shared his indifference to such labels:

“I couldn’t care less about any of it. I’m not the best person to discuss this because my band has faced a lot of hate. I’m glad that my personality can stand apart from how many feel about my music. But I will say that the term ‘screamo’ to me is just another small-minded insult. The fact that these terms have evolved into something positive is encouraging.”

Black Veil Brides is set to embark on a North American tour, kicking off on August 18 in Nampa, Idaho, with performances across various U.S. cities until the end of September.
