The last Beatles song will be published in 2023, and it was finished with the use of artificial intelligence that helped to strengthen John Lennon’s voice from an old demo recording. This information was given by the iconic Beatles co-founder, composer, bassist, and vocalist Paul McCartney.

In an interview with BBC 4 to promote his most recent picture book, “1964: Eyes of the Storm,” the musician discussed the recording.

Paul said, “We just finished it up, it will be released this year. When we came to make what will be the last Beatles record, it was a demo that John had that we worked on.”

“We were able to take John’s voice and get it pure through this AI so that then we could mix the record as you would normally do — it gives you some sort of leeway. So there’s a good side to it and then a scary side and we’ll just have to see where that leads.”

Paul claims that the documentary series “Get Back” director Peter Jackson was instrumental in making the recording work. He said, “He was able to extricate John’s voice from a ropey little bit of cassette — it had John’s voice and a piano. He could separate them with AI, they could tell the machine, ‘That’s a voice, this is a guitar, lose the guitar,’ and he did that. So it has great uses.”

The musician said that Yoko Ono, John Lennon’s widow, provided him the recording to use. Although John Lennon was assassinated on December 8, 1980, when he was 40 years old, the new song has yet to be released. With an estimated 600 million recordings sold worldwide, The Beatles are the best-selling band of all time.

  1. Ai is not going to be used to strengthen Johns voice, Ai will be used to take out any hiss or other background noises
