SKID ROW has announced a change in their lineup, bidding farewell to Swedish vocalist Erik Grönwall. Stepping in for the next few performances is Lzzy Hale from HALESTORM, a close ally of the band, who will lead the vocals for four upcoming shows.

Erik has decided to step down due to the demands of touring and its impact on his health and recovery process. He aims to focus on a lifestyle that better supports his well-being, health, and family time.

The band expressed their pride in the work done with Erik over the last two years and their well wishes for his health. As a parting gift, SKID ROW plans to release a live album that captures their recent journey, highlighting this significant phase in their over 35-year history.

Erik reflected on his journey, joining SKID ROW six months post-leukemia treatment, and hitting the road for a world tour shortly after. Despite the dream come true, the touring lifestyle proved challenging for his compromised immune system. Prioritizing his health, Erik made the difficult decision to leave, expressing his gratitude for the opportunity and the warm reception from fans.

Lzzy Hale shared her excitement about joining SKID ROW for the short stint, expressing her admiration for the band and sending best wishes to Erik.

SKID ROW, with Lzzy Hale, will perform at the following venues:

– May 17 at Walker’s Bluff Casino Resort, Carterville, IL
– May 18 at Riverside Casino & Golf Resort, Riverside, IA
– May 31 at Nugget Casino Resort, Sparks, NV
– June 1 at Hard Rock Live Sacramento, Wheatland, CA

Erik, diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in March 2021, has spoken about his battle with cancer, the spiritual awakening it brought him, and the incredible journey of joining and performing with his favorite band, SKID ROW. He credits his wife for her immense support through his treatment, highlighting the strength she provided him.

After announcing his cancer-free status in September 2021 following a bone marrow transplant, Erik reflected on his gratitude for the perspective and resilience his journey has given him, emphasizing his newfound appreciation for life and the importance of happiness and health over his career.

Throughout his career, Erik has contributed significantly to the music world, not only through his time with SKID ROW but also with the Swedish rock band H.E.A.T., and his performances in major productions like NBC’s “Jesus Christ Superstar.” His story remains an inspiring tale of courage, change, and the unyielding power of music.
