Dolly Parton began her career as a country music artist in the 1960s and released hit songs like ‘Jolene’, ‘9 to 5’, and ‘I Will Always Love You’. She is also very active in her philanthropy, through the Dollywood Foundation which focuses on education. She was also inducted into the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame in 2022 and she wasted no time in creating new music.

Stevie Nicks celebrated Dolly’s birthday by uploading a photo from the studio. Dolly herself released a new song celebrating her 77th birthday. In her Instagram video, she announced, “Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me! [music notes emoji], Today, I decided I’m not gonna get, I’m gonna give. My new song, ‘Don’t Make Me Have to Come Down There’ is out now.”

Happy Birthday to my new friend, Dolly! Had so much fun singing with you!”

When Dolly appeared on The View after being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last year and, she said, “If I’m going to be in the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame, I better do something to earn it. So I’m doing a rock ‘n’ roll album and I’m having a lot of the rock stars that I met that night be on the album with me.

She discussed her project previously on BBC Radio 2. She explained, “I’m working on that album and that will be coming out sometime next fall hopefully, in time for the Christmas season next year. And so I’m going to do a lot of classic songs that are rock songs and then a few that I’ve written.”

For the project, Dolly Parton has revealed Stevie Nicks, Steven Tyler, and Paul McCartney. It is revealed that the title of the album will be ‘Rock Star’ and will feature many iconic classic rock stars like Prince, The Rolling Stones, and Led Zeppelin. When she was asked if Mick Jagger would be one of her potential collaborators, she replied, “Well I’m doing my best to try and get him on [‘Rock Star’], But I did his song anyway.

She also added, “I think Pink and Brandi Carlile are gonna be singing on that particular song [the Stones’ ‘Satisfaction’] with me.”

Patron also revealed that the album will feature, Steve Petty and Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler. She told the program, “I’m even gonna have Cher on [the album], I’ve been getting a song for her, we’ve been trying to get the right thing together. But that’s going to be a big thrill I think.”
